My wife loves cheese so this was a nice find here in Calibishie. Lauren and her husband have a wonderful house and farm up the road off the main road where they have several goats and are making some delicious cheese. Tour included visiting the goats, seeing where they are milked, then indoors to see where the milk is turned into cheese. Cheese is available for sale. See more..

Park along the street and hike about 15 minutes down. It is possible to drive down and park along the trail to save some hiking time but wouldn’t recommend driving all the way down to the beach. Road is quite rutted. Beautiful beach but popular. Attendant at bottom to collect $5 US/person for entry. See more..

This isn't a huge height waterfall, but is a lovely deep pool - a great place to take a picnic for the day. It is a fair walk up/down a hill unless you have a high ground clearance 4wd. We were also charged $10 EC pp by someone on the trail for trail maintenance - not sure if he was legit or not but it was a great experience See more..
  4. 4.5 Bwa Nef Falls (2 reviews)
    - pretty area

The falls are nice, maybe not the most amazing, but overall the area is beautiful. The hike was short and I thought it was a very pretty hike. I would do it again and I would recommend it if you are in the area. See more..
  5. 4.5 Number One Beach (2 reviews)
    - Great beach
    Spent 2-3 hours Beaches

Number One beach is the best beach that we saw in Dominica. Mind you, we have not seen them all! It is about 2 km west of Calibishie. There is no sign by the road, although there is a steel gate that is easy to spot if you are not driving too fast. Google map will accept the entry and get you to the correct location. You park your car on the side of the road and walk about 400m to get to the beach. The beach is about 500m long and the black/brown sand is pretty decent. The surf is strong. The west end of the beach is better and the beach is wider there. There is also a freshwater creek at the west end. The beach is not busy as Calibishie is fairly remote. Enjoy. See more..
