    - Must see this beautiful place !
    Bodies of Water
    Zrmanja image
A great place to see, in this area a series of movies about Winnetou has been filmed. I recommend to leave the car next to asphalt road, and take a walk to the view point, it is just few minutes walk, but it is not worth to risk car damage driving this short distance. Really recommend ! See more..

    - A Must wine tasting!
    Thursday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Wineries & Vineyards
    Degarra Winery image
The Degarra Winery is a small “boutique” winery from the Zadar region that produces a limited series of top quality wines. Our motto “New and Original” besides pointing out the desire to enter the market with the new product every year, is also reflected in our desire to stand out from the others. So, we decided to turn the former barracks of the former JNA into a house of wine and delicacies. See more..

Beautiful national park with plenty of walks. There was a natural cave park here which was absolutely worth the trip. Only 65k per person and the guide spoke English as well as Croatian. We stayed a few days with swimming and paddle-boarding on the Lika river too. See more..

We walked along the promenade several times as there are ever changing views over to the island offshore. Interesting buildings, city walls, some sculptures, the Sea Organ and the cruise ship dock are all accessible from this walkway. The final section of new stonework and a quay are being rebuilt and will be finished soon. See more..

An interesting and very well arranged museum, telling the history of the surrounding lands from Prehistoric times to the Middle Ages. All exhibits are described in English, with special attention paid to Ancient Rome. Overall, it's not very big, but I liked it and recommend it for a visit if you're in Zadar. See more..

The fasad of the lighthouse has never been renewed. during building they have mixed 300 000 eggs in surface construction. The quality of this surface was proven to be so good that it never required a renewal. When you climb up 210 steps to the top of lighthouse you have a magnificent view over the whole archipelago. - Impressive views, especially at sunset
Spent < 1 hour Points of Interest & Landmarks • Observation Decks & Towers
    Bell Tower image
Great views in all directions. We were there at sunset with few people so we zipped to the top. If there were lots of people, there could be some congestion on the stairs, especially the first 30-40 stairs which are narrow, so traffic can only flow in one direction at a time. First couple floors completed in 15th century, the top was finally completed in the ltate 1800's by an English architect See more..

    Vransko Jezero Nature Park image
A beautiful and interesting natural park 5 kilometers from Biograd na Moryu. There are three entrances, each of which you can buy tickets for, and each of which has different things to do. We visited the lake itself (Crkvine entrance), here you walk about a kilometer on wooden paths in the lake and watch birds (there were quite a few birds, see the photos). Then we drove to the Kamenjak entrance, it is on top of one of the hills - from here there is a great view of the lake and the islands along the coast. The experience was definitely worth it. See more..

    - The Land Gate, Zadar
Thursday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Spent < 1 hour Ancient Ruins • Points of Interest & Landmarks
    Zadar Land City Gates image
The most elaborate of the city gates also has the prettiest setting, facing a sheltered little marina. Dating from 1543, it has Renaissance-style decorations including St Chrysogonus (Zadar's patron saint) on horseback and the Venetian winged lion. The gate is still used by traffic and was clearly meant to impress those entering – the reverse side is decidedly plain. To get a really good view go up the stairs on the side and walk up into the park. Great place to take photos. See more..

    Zrce Beach image
You need to know what place you are going to, if you have decided to go to Zrće - yes, there is a bunch of young people, drunk and drugged, drinks are quite expensive and unnecessary aggression often occurs. But there you can find the world’s best DJs and enjoy phenomenal music. I had a great time and it was a wonderful experience. See more..
  17. 4.0 The Forum (522 reviews)
    - A 'walk by' attraction. But add a little history & these remnants of an earthquake begin to live again.
Spent < 1 hour Points of Interest & Landmarks
    The Forum image
The seemingly random relics of buildings allow you to touch the history lying at your feet. Zadar is a planned city Quadrata layout undertaken by the Romans, & this, I'm told, is obvious to the educated eye, & thankfully is still preserved some 2 millenia later . Following the earthquake in 6th Century much of the area was reduced to rubble & the medieval square & a Renaissance cistern were built. I tried to include more info from a great website but you can sniff out more history ... ... I'm not going to do all the heavy lifting for you! See more..
  18. 4.0 Zadar Cathedral (373 reviews)
    - Pretty cathedral

    Zadar Cathedral image
A very beautiful cathedral in the center of the town. The interior of the cathedral is very calm and the wooden beams in top are simplistic and nice. There is a click tower which costs 20hrk to climb and has gorgeous views of the town. Easy to climb: 200 odd stairs See more..

    - Unusual City Square
Ancient Ruins • Points of Interest & Landmarks
Five Wells Square (Trg 5 Bunara) image
The Five Wells Square in Zadar was built in 1574 during the siege of the Ottoman Empire army, when the defensive moat was covered up on the west side of the bastion, previously excavated in the Middle Ages. In its place, a large cistern for drinking water with five decorated wellheads was built, and parts of the aqueduct that used to bring water directly from the Vrana Lake, have been preserved. After the danger had passed, a protective wall was built on the site. On one side is the the entrance to the Queen Jelena Madije Park, and on another the Captain's Tower that rises 26 metres. Their are several places to eat some with upper terraces and the space is large enough to host events such as a concert which was on whilst we were there. See more..
