-Great corner of peace in Douala
Friday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Art Galleries
This small art gallery is definetly worth a visit. Its garden with exterior peaces and amazing mango trees is a little green paradise in the stress of the city. The artists featured were also great, very good social commentary. See more..
- 4.5 Ekom-Nkam Waterfalls (30 reviews)
-amazing! What a paradise!
Waterfalls
One of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. In the middle of a pristine forest, you'll find this amazing waterfalls! This is where Greystoke the legend of Tarzan was filmed in 1982. It will leave you breathless. You only hear the noises of the falls and the forest. A true jewel. If somehow they manage to exploit it, they'll make tons of money but it will surely lose its charm! - 4.5 Musee Maritime de Douala (30 reviews)
-Very good museum visit worth every penny
Spent 1-2 hours Speciality Museums • Science Museums • Children's Museums • History Museums
This was a great visit. The museum is divided in 3 sections: one floor dedicated to the history of the Wouri coast, the Sawa people, the origin of the city Douala, and of the name Cameroon, and slavery. The second floor tailors to boats, and what is in the boat, the naval experience. I really enjoyed this exhibit of a real boat control room, with all the different types of boats, and the safety features, as well as the ship simulator. The 3rd floor has a beautiful conference room shaped as the inside of a boat, and a 3D simulator room called "La salle de Tempetes" which is very good. The cherry on the cake is the roof part where you get a view of the port of Douala, and Bonanjo. Very outstanding! and I do hope more Cameroonians visit. Did I say the guides were very good. - 4.0 Club Market VIP Lounge (6 reviews)
-Fine lounge
Spent 1-2 hours Airport Lounges
Ok, is this a “five star” lounge? No not at all. But my rating is high because it is so much better than any other possible thing you can do in Douala airport! DLA is terrible. After immigration there is nothing. Hardly even a place to buy a water. The lounge is hard to find...ignore the “gates/lounges” sign near the check-in counters, it is not that way. You need to enter the longer from the main part of the airport and it is between two stands selling local crafts. There was no food when I went which was a shame but that’s ok. The bartender was friendly and there was plenty of alcohol. Also, he took care of my immigration and then I walked out a few minutes before the flight with no problem. Is it great? No. Is it way better than your alternative? Absolutely. See more..

- 4.0 Ancien Hopital General de Douala (2 reviews)
-Nachtigal Krankenhaus
Spent 1-2 hours Historic Sites
See more..

-Nice craft market with good variety of goods
Art Galleries
The Marche des Fleurs in Douala-Bonapriso is a very good market showcasing Cameroonian wood products. While its not the best in Douala, it is the largest, most accessible collection of good work. Plus, it's on the main road towards the airport from downtown. Perfect place to get a gift before heading home. Originally a flower market (which can still be seen on the east side of the market), it has expanding to about a hundred stalls selling all types of African crafts with an emphasis on Cameroonian wood products. It's not the best you'll get in Douala, but it is the most accessible. If you live in the region or can ship furniture, don't skip the wicker furniture market just north of the parking lot. The parking lot, by the way is a little difficult to find but basically the entrance is at the north end of the flower dealers--follow a short 25-50 meter driveway into the parking lot at the center. Cigar Bars
This is a great place to go to before or after a meal. They have one of the best selections of single malts in Cameroon! Cigar selection was decent. Was looking for a Highland Park 18. Not available, but the barman gave us HIghland Park 12 - very liberal pour! Great place to hangout. See more..

- 3.0 Marche Artisanal de Douala (4 reviews)
-Artisanal tourist area great for curios
Flea & Street Markets
Located next to the Marche des Fleurs this is the largest Artisanal market in Douala. Selling curios and other household items ranging from ceramic pots and woven baskets to tourist items, masks, sculptures and ubiquitous African tat. There are also a fair bit of ‘old’ items from villages etc though some of that looks old but isn’t. Be prepared to be hassled a lot and negotiate fiercely as first prices are ridiculous and you can settle for 25% of the price and still not be ripping off traders. It’s interesting to visit and great if you want something local. Be aware of animal products and some wood items that may be illegal to export and give you s problem at the airport. See more..
- 3.0 Edea Cathedral (1 review)
-Cathédrale d'Edéa , de style Byzantin colonial !!
Religious Sites • Churches & Cathedrals
