We took a taxi from Ganga to the lakes Goygol and Maralgol. There is a small entrance fee at the entrance of the reserve, and after a short drive you first arrive at lake Goygol. From there you have to take a Mashrutka to go up to lake Maralgol (1 manat each way), and it is totally worth it. It takes about 10-15min from lake Goygol to reach Maralgol. From the drop off point you need to climb close to 300 stairs (or ride a horse). Unlike lake Goygol, you can walk a fair bit around the lake, even dip your feet into the cool water. Lake GoyGol that literally means blue lake , located in goygol national reserve about 1 hours from Ganja city. You can get a taxi or village cars to the lake entrance. You have to pay 2 AZN (2016) per person at the gate and 1 AZN for car. There is another lake (Maral Gol) you can reach by minibuses near goygol way that costs 2 AZN. If you want to be far from crowded and buildings and see natural areas , you must hike to other side (to the Kepez mount) and find ways in forest. See more..

The Imamzade historical monument includes a mosque and the mausoleum og grand grand grand son of prophet Muhamed. This is a must to visit when in Ganja. Staff are very friendly and will show you everything and will allow you everywhere. No entry fee but one could donate some amount to boxes inside the mosque or ant the entrance. Alexander Nevsky Church was built in Byzantine style in Ganja in 1887, when Azerbaijan was under Russian occupation. It is a Russian Orthodox church. In the Soviet era it was used as a museum and as a warehouse before it became a church again. The church does not lie far away from the centre of Ganja. You have to take a side street and then you see the brick building in a garden or cemetery. The caretakers of the church, who were swaying away the dirt with besoms in the interior, were not friendly at all. They were very strict and muttering all the time. I think they wanted to actively discourage touristic visits to their church. If you have not got a headscarf of your own, you are not allowed in, so do not forget to bring one with you. The church has got some precious icons, and colourful wall paintings. It would have been a gem if the atmosphere had not been so bad during the visit. The very existence of this Russian Orthodox Church is regarded as a proof of religious tolerance and multiculturalism by the Azerbaijani government. See more..

I was there when i was 18 so 10 years ago. It was interestig. Especially will be interesting who are interested in archeology. But nothing very special u can see that kind of things in each city of azerbaijan( except Gabala or Sheki. There are more specific, detailed foundings).
