Perfect view of Matterhorn

We went on a short family hike starting on the parking "perreres" which also offers an extraordinarily pittoresque and well equipped picnic area. Upon arriving at Lago Blu we enjoyed the superb view of the Matterhorn. The lake itself is very cold due to the glacier water, so swimming in it is not really an Option. We can recommend hiking there nevertheless! The lake is also easily accessible by car with a small parking area nearby.

    beautiful quick stop, easy for all
    A quick stop on the way to Cervinia. Great opportunity for beautiful photos. Not a hike, so easy for all fitness levels.

    Beautiful
    Sunset hike around the lake. Sunset being very late, there was no problem with starting the hike at 8 pm. The color was fantastic. Cows with bells ringing in the fields of flowers, trout clearly visible swimming around in the lake. Magnificent.
