4.5Forssa Museum(10 reviews) - Lovely short experience at Forssa Tuesday: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours History Museums
Forssa Museum is located in the middle of the historical Spinning Mill Area - the birthplace of our city! The museum has three different exhibitions: Permanent exhibition The City of Colourful Cloth, an Art Gallery and The Pattern Center that holds and showcases an extensive collection of Finnish printed fabrics and original designs. The City of Forssa was established around textile industry. Swedish born Axel Wilhelm Wahren (1814-1885) founded a cotton spinning mill by the side of Kuhalankoski rapids in 1847. The mill was soon followed by a weaving mill and Finland's first industrial fabric printing plant. In 1934 the Forssa Company founded by Wahren was merged with Finlayson textile group from Tampere and the company Finlayson-Forssa was formed. Textile production in Forssa ended in 2009. The heritage of the textile factories is now stored in Forssa museum's unique textile archives.See more..

4.5The Recreational Fishing Museum of Finland(3 reviews) - The interesting story of Rapala lures and Lauri Rapala Spent < 1 hour Speciality Museums • Natural History Museums
Lauri Rapala was the founder of Rapala-Normark group, the largest fishing lure and tackle producer in the world. Lauri Rapala was born in this region (in Sysmä). This museum tells the exciting story of Lauri Rapala and Rapala Company. This isn't "only" Rapala museum. It also tells about other lures, fishing as a hobby and local nature. The museum is three storeys high and it is situated in an old dairy building (nowadays called as Päijännetalo House). So it also tells about local history and dairy industry. Remember to visit the statue of Lauri Rapala, too. It is situated 300-400 meters (walking time 4 minutes) from the museum. I am not interested in fishing but this museum was very exciting. I recommend it for everyone interested in nature, fishing or history.See more..
