The park with the gate, table and avenue is a must
One cannot divorce this sculpture from the Gate of the Kiss and the Avenue of Seats. They represent the beautiful simplicity of Brancusi and his invitation to stand and consider. The table is at one end of the avenue and, especially with the trees as a backcrop, exquisite.

Symbolism in silence.
Another creation of Constantin Brancusi - the Table of Silence - another masterpiece from the forefather of modern sculpture. Part of the Heroes Memorial Ensemble of Targu Jiu - dedicated to the heroes of WWI - the work of art consists of a round table in the middle and 12 chairs around it - with hourglass shapes. Symbolism is strong - some consider it to symbolize the supper of the soldiers going into battle for the last time -hence the hourglass stools ... some find parallels to the Last Supper - the 12 Apostol's around Jesus .. Most likely it signifies something else and the sense and symbols are in the mind and the eye of the beholder. Bottom line is , when in Targu Jiu you shall check it out , it is a definite must view, it is on public display and it is another manifestation of the genius of Constantin Brancusi - so make sure when you are in Targu Jiu you don't miss it.
