Imposing statue

This imposing stone-carved statue sits overlooking the river Danube. It measures approximately 55m in height and dominates the immediate area. We were on a Viking river cruise and unfortunately, the heavens opened as we sailed past so only viewed it through rain-drenched windows. It was a pity as it was one of the things I really wanted to see. It was carved in the early 1990s but is still worth viewing.

    Awesome statue
Impressive but wish I knew more about when it was carved. Also wish the Viking cruise ship could have given us more time to admire this huge rock carving. Instead we pretty much just zipped past, snapping photos.

Large statue carved in stone along the river Danube
This is pretty neat. I am not sure, but I think the only way to see it is cruising down the river. It's a statue carved into stone from the river. It is really big. If you are cruising down the river be sure to go out and see it. If you're not in the area, I don't think you need to make a special trip to see it.
