A drive to the natural park ... very beautiful

Between the cities of Targu Jiu and Petrosani you shall find the National Park "Defileiu Jiului" , a very nice patch of nature that really deserves protection and conservation for the next generations. Now we have been driving through the park , there was no time for taking 1 of the numerous hiking trials, nonetheless the experience was well worth it. The park is being crossed by the E79 road, and the views on both sides are absolutely beautiful. Obviously not as spectacular as in the Transfagarasan road or on the Transalpina, but still with a certain beautiful. Along the road you will find the Lainici monastery and various other sites that are well worth for visiting and several points where you can stop and take some very nice pictures. So when you are in the area and you are looking for an escape in nature ... check out this place ...

Beautiful park
Very beautiful park, definitely a must visit while you are in Targu-Jiu. It also has some of Brancusi's famous works of arts so one more reasons to visit it.

Jiu Valley National Park
Jiu Valley National Park (PNDJ) established along the valley formed by the Jiu river, between the massifs Vâlcan Parang and occupies an area of over 11,100 hectares, divided between Gorj and Hunedoara area is covered almost entirely by forests. Jiu Valley is one of the most spectacular and wild gorges in the Carpathian Mountains and road and railroad that crosses it reveals eyes sectors with deep valleys of overwhelming beauty, tunnels and viaducts, virtually an entire universe offered primarily liable, but the thought of man to build one of the most spectacular roadways throughout Romania. National Park Jiu Valley is situated in Bumbeşti Jiu tariffs charged for visiting the park are only 5 lei per person per week or 25 lei per year and for groups larger than 10 people rates are 3 lei / person / week. It's worth visiting!
