Must see in Đakovo

The Đakovo Cathedral is definitely the must see place in Đakovo, it is something you cannot miss while here. It is a beautiful neoromanic style church and with its 84 metres it is the building that it is impossible not to see, it is even visible from the highway. The interior is even more beautiful looking than the exterior. I was there on a rainy day so the colors could not be seen as brightly as they would be on a sunny day, but it did not really take away its beauty. I am not sure if it is open all the time, when I was there, on a saturday around noon it was open and there were few people also visiting and those who worked there.

    276' twin-spired cathedral in Dakovo.
We could spot the 276’ twin-spires of this cathedral way out in the farming countryside before arriving in small Dakovo. The mammoth brick Romanesque revival structure is decorated throughout with paintings of St. Peter. We liked its large rose window, chancel dome and beautiful patterned tile floor.

    Beautiful cathedral!
This cathedral is really lovely. There was virtually no one there when we visited, and it was so peaceful and beautiful. The whole area of Slavonia is underrated, in my opinion. There are a lot of nice old buildings in the area, the countryside is stunning, and the people are friendly and welcoming.
