Don't be fooled by the unassuming entrance to the Basilica, entrance is reasonable and worth every penny in my book for a glimpse of some of the treasures inside & out. Stand outs are the mosaics (Christ with the 12 apostles), 16th century bell tower & colonnaded atrium. Given the history and its tumultuous past dicing with fires & earthquakes its in remarkably good shape.See more..
I came alone to visit this church from the outside as well as inside. An impressive building in good condition. Inside quite standard and plain - just the picture on the top is very colorful and bright (see pictures). Is this a helpful review?
