  1. 3.5 Lake Thunderbird State Park (116 reviews)
    - Beautiful Lake with Great Mountain Bike Trails
    State Parks
    Lake Thunderbird State Park image
Lake Thunderbird State Park has some very hilly mountain bike trails, a nice change from the normally flat terrain of central Oklahoma. While the trails were quite sandy, they are decently taken care of and can easily be handled by both new and experienced mountain-bikers. The trails are accessible to hikers and parking is very easy. A great place to spend the day! See more..
  2. 4.5 Discovery Cove Natural Center (6 reviews)
    - Amazing! Always worthwhile!
    Spent 1-2 hours State Parks
Staff is extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Have attended First Day Hikes (on January 1) and Eagle Watch at the center. Learned a lot from the guides and staff. Great for all ages. Highly recommended See more..
  3. 4.5 George Miksch Sutton Urban Wilderness Park (4 reviews)
    - Tour de Prairie.
Parks • Jogging Paths & Tracks
An urban wilderness walled in by cedar trees and Hedge-apple trees. It is really neat. You get an idea what Norman looked like before the Land Run. (Grassy and bumpy Haha) the trails wonder around a pond. Its a hole 160 ac quart section but the trails only cover a portion of that. No camping or bikes. Lots of wildlife if you know where, and what to look for. It has grasslands, wetlands, and woods. See more..
  4. 5.0 Ruby Grant Park And Playground (1 review)
    - Finally a great park for the rest of us!
    Parks
This park has great facilities for people with diverse interests. First, the playground is awesome! We took our granddaughter here and she had a great time. Clever toys, things to do, and stuff I've never seen before. Some are set up so you can play along with your children. Lots of benches, and even some "mist sprayers" for the hot summer days. The playground is completely fenced in so little ones can't wander off. Second, the park has nice trails for walking/running (not good for bikes or strollers though as most are gravel), and several really nice pavilions for picnics and parties. Third, the park includes a very nice dog park (over by interstate drive) with separate facilities for large and small dogs. My dog really enjoys it...very large area, lots of trees, separate parking lot, etc. Very nice park! See more..
