Great trip to butterfly reptiles park

Melaka Butterfly & Reptile Sanctuary is home to thousands of Malaysian butterflies, insects and reptiles. It is a private zoological park complete with a wide collection of creepy crawlies ranging from small lizards to giant reptiles. This includes 1 species of highly endangered crocodiles under its conservation program and more than 20 species of snakes in its reptile section. Opened to the public on 1st February, 1991, the Sanctuary had undergone many transformations to become a premier conservation center it is known today. Yes, that’s right. When you buy a ticket to our Sanctuary, you will contribute directly to the butterfly conservation program. Here are some tips for you! Great animal park - well worth a visit
This is one of our favorite places to visit in Melaka - highly recommended especially if you have kids . Pre-Covid we would make annual trips here and it has never disappointed. We went back this past week after a long hiatus and were pleasantly surprised at the improvements made, specifically opportunities for kids to interact with the animals via feeding packs sold along with the admission tickets. There were fewer species of butterflies this time around, likely as a result of the pandemic lockdown, but the animals otherwise looked healthy and well cared for. I am always impressed at how clean the enclosures are- never a smell, even after a night of heavy rainfall.

Very interesting choice of reptiles and butterflies
This was not our first time here. This trip was awesome because there was a crocodile feeding session and a little show and tell about snakes. Personally, I love snakes and this place has quite a variety of them. They even have an Anaconda which I am terrified of. They also have a variety of amphibians and arachnids. It's a place where everyone should really take their time to look around because they have interesting creatures. If you are an insect lover, you will find interesting ones here too. There are also iguanas and geckos if you are interested. They have a variety of birds as well.
