Still as bustling as before!

Finally revisited Malacca’s most famous jonker street after not being able to travel here during the pandemic. The streets are still as bustling as before, night markets are still on every friday, sat and sun from 6pm onwards. Food choices are aplenty - from street food to restaurants, you will be so spoilt for choices! Sadly, several good old eateries/restaurants around/nearby jonker street have closed down during the pandemic, but there are still many places where you can try local dishes - highly recommend nyonya cuisine! Tip for those who are driving, roads will be closed from 5:30pm onwards to get ready for the weekend night market. There are nearby parking lots but traffic will be super congested so do try to avoid driving here on those days.

    Great weekend experience (mostly food)
Great way to spend your weekend to indulge in nostalgic vibes of olden times… walking down a bustling street with stalls on both sides and hawkers beckoning you to try their wares. If you are lucky you might even catch the coconut shake guys displaying their coconut tossing prowess. Me and my partner dined at one of the seafood stalls and the oysters there were really huge. Biggest oysters I’ve ate so far, very worth it. The fried oyster omelette though not so much I also snagged a mini handbag for rm30 and bought souvenirs for my relatives there (pineapple tarts, pumpkin noodles)

After the first 5 minutes, everything repeats
Jumping into what is a human mosh pit, Jonker street is today world famous. After 5 minutes of physically touching everyone, you realize the overpriced toys, drinks, food and wares being peddled REPEAT over and over again with different people selling basically the same goods. Many overpriced food items on offer tasted just BAD and nothing like the real deal if that is what you are looking for.
