Landmark old fort
This building is the remains of a Portuguese fort and one of the oldest surviving European built buildings in Malacca. There’s not much to see as it’s mostly ruins and you wouldn’t know that it formerly served as an entrance to the city or even guess it’s a fort unless you read the description about this building. This building is located next to the Sultanate Palace and the Proclamation Of Independence Memorial, so it’s worth a quick detour if in the area.

Quite small but worth a visit.
Not actually a lot to see as there are very few architectural remnants. But it is worth seeing just to understand the history of the area. Located close by is a shopping mall with lots of food outlets. We found this convenient after walking around the area in the heat.
