Chamadevi was the founder and the first ruler of the ancient Hariphunchai (Nowadays Lamphun), the first kingdom ever established in this region. During her reign, the warrior queen brought prosperity, peace and Buddhism into the kingdom. The statue represents her as a gorgeous lady with curvy well-proportioned body. Her right hand is outstretched with open palm, while her left hand holds the sword. Her statue was the first stop in our trip to Lamphun. We have to pay respect to the great queen before entering her town.See more..
