Fantastic!
What a wonderful afternoon spent here. This attraction is great for adults as well as children. You need to pre book either online or there. We booked in person the day before and then turned up at our allocated booking time the next day. I would highly advise to try and go at quieter times , eg) late afternoon or evening and midweek. The Wunderland can get very busy, and if it's really busy you would need to spend time waiting to get upto the models. We went at 3.30 on a Friday and spend around 3.5 hours here. It's open until 10pm Monday -Thursday and until 1am Friday and Saturday. You can get to Hafencity (where the minature Sunderland is ) easily from all the districts of Hamburg. There are buses and trains nearby or you can walk too it, it's fairly central. Whilst we were there ,we didn't need to cue for long and we were able to all of the exhibits....and there were a lot, so be prepared to take your time. It was really amazing and fun too see. We paid 20 euro each to get in, and felt it was worth every penny. We took our time and had a good look, as there is so much to see on each exhibit and some things you need to really look for. Overall, we loved it and would recommend to all ages :-)

Impressive work of art and a must for any model fans
A truly amazing day out for anyone who appreciates the art of model railway and planes. This was my first visit - a return trip for my other half and our 10 year old who is obsessed with Knuffingen airport and it didn't disappoint at all. There is so much detail you could go 100 times and notice different things each time. The layout can mean that large numbers of people congregate at a scene that has something happening but you just need to be patient and wait and my best tip is to allow the full day as you just wont see it all properly otherwise. We were there from just after 10am.untll 4pm, with my son sending around 2 hours plane spotting ? The cafe area was clean with ample seating but we would have liked a few other food options such as sandwiches, croissants or pizza. We paid extra for the VR experience (booked in advance) and it was superb and was the highlight for me. It was down a few flight of steps from the south America area but worth the climb back up to the main exhibition . It was very easy to get to using the number 6 bus from just outside the main train station in Hamburg (we were staying in Seevetal about 40 mins away). It was about 3/4 stops on the bus. We had purchased a group day ticket for 5 people for €12.90 giving full access all day on trains and buses.. We appeared to be the only English speaking people there that day and it seems to be unknown by many British which is a shame. We had expected to come across a few other Scottish visitors as It's the middle of our 2 week October holiday. We are however eagerly planning our next trip and wondering if the visitor numbers from Mars will have changed ? - you'll understand after your visit
