Old School Charm and Wonder.
This is a very traditional museum, which is fascinating to those who seek knowledge. I loved it's old school charm, quietness and the real authority in its exhibits. It has the only full specimen of a fossil elephant called Deinotherium. This was my reason to visit, but I was fully enamoured with the rest of it. If you have children that require interactivity to stay quiet, then take them somewhere else and respect the visitors who actually want to look. You can expect to queue outside a locked door for a while, even when it's open. The doorman is the boss and he only let's you in when somebody leaves. It does get busy, so if you want straight access, get your ticket on line, go to the front, knock and demand entry. It's not like London, where its a free for all. Entry costs are minimal, a few more Ron will get you in to the temporary exhibit. There's a full scale, geologically accurate reproduction of a limestone cave inside which for a certified anorak like me fills you with glee. Old world charm, follow the arrows, learn and be amazed. If you are easily offended then don't visit as the ethnographic exhibits are very 1950s in presentation. Loved it, and the gift shop, which is reasonable and full of dinosaurs, which is all you need.

Very educative
Went at weekends with my husband: price per adult 20 lei plus 10 lei photo fee so was more than decent. The museum is very interesting, the items are very well presented and described, they put tablets to find more info but I think due to the COVID situation these tablets were off. It takes you from stuffed animals to history of the vertebrates, human body and organs, fossils to gems and all kind of stones; there is even a small cave which was super wow. All in all we loved it a lot
