There is a lot of history here as you would expect and it helps to educate yourself before you go. We visited the area and stayed overnight some years back, this time we were just passing through. 4.5Zámeček Větruše(110 reviews) - Day trip to Usti Spent < 1 hour Castles
We drove from Leipzig for a day trip to see the Czech Republic. Didn’t need to buy a motorway pass at the border as it is free as far as Usti. Drove straight to the hotel overlooking the city and then took the cable car down to the Forum shopping centre. Found a bank in the town square to change Euros into the local currency. Had lunch at a great Mexican restaurant on the town square and the visited a local jewellery shop with a very interesting Croatian owner. Then back through the shopping centre and bought lots of reasonably priced clothes and other things before getting the cable car back up the hill and setting off for Leipzig. Spent about 5 hours in Usti overall. Wouldn’t want to spend a week there but great for a day trip to get an idea of what the place is like. See more..

4.5Hrad Zvikov(50 reviews) - The best castle grounds around Castles
We came here early Saturday morning, around 8 AM and nobody was around. There is a large parking lot with a restaurant that opens probably at 10 AM from there you walk less than 1 km to get to the Zvikov castle. The grounds are extensive, very neatly landscaped with plenty of seats and lots of room for kids to run around for free. The interior of the castle opens at 9am, we did not go in, we just walked around enjoying the views from the castle walls onto the surrounding rivers. Just as we were leaving the souvenir stalls were being opened as well as a small coffee shop. I would recommend visiting this castle ruin complex not only to any family with kids, but also to couples or singles that enjoy tranquility with beautiful natural surroundings.See more..

4.5Zámek Hrádek u Nechanic(36 reviews) - Nejkrásnější zámek v ČR Spent 1-2 hours Points of Interest & Landmarks • Castles
It's absolutely best czech castle. The parking is cheap, I dont mind golfists, the park is maintained and in the season you can go on two outstanding tours (and tower!). Occasionally they are showing cellars or there are tours with the Countess. They have lot of action in the season and I love it especially because of those beautiful original interior. Not a factory, but original residence from 19th century, which has its own unique atmosphere. Just a pity that the nearest restaurant is in Nechanice. But it is the best!See more..
Humprecht is unmistakably different from other aristocratic estates in its construction concept. The elliptical shape of its ground plan, the interesting lighting of the upper hall with a lantern and the untypical decoration of the roof top - a crescent moon - make it a unique monument that you will not confuse with any other. Interesting are also the bits and pieces of history connected to the castle.See more..
What a lovely park, huge in size with three lakes - it would take you a good few hours to walk the whole park but I took in only a small park of the park , via the main house where you can walk through the courtyard and look down on one of the lakes. It was a beautiful day - plenty of parking and many visitors. A really nice day to get out of the city and explore - dogs are welcome.See more..
