- 4.5 Johnson's Orchards (112 reviews)
-Best Pie I’ve Ever Eaten. But Go Early before They’re Gone.
Thursday: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM Farms
Stopped there on way from Seattle to Salt Lake City to buy local cherries to take to my daughter. They were fantastic. And so we’re the apricots and early peaches. But I discovered they also sold fresh baked pies. Bought a cherry pie and it was the best. My mother used to make great pies, but this exceeded hers! Also took a few pictures of cherries on trees. Didn’t know there were so many on a tree. We decided to stop on way back. But, there were no cherries because that bizarre heatwave had killed them. (Thanks a lot, global climate change. That 110 degrees in Seattle also killed a few of my plants and extensively damaged a few others.) Also, we were late in the day and there was only one pie left. See more..

This will forever be one of my favorite memories. We went Apple picking here in mid-September. Our son was six and he had an awesome time pulling the wagon and picking apples and pears. This orchard is lovely and my husband and I enjoyed just walking through it and seeing all of the varieties of fruit they grew here. They also have berry patches and vegetables. See more..
- 4.5 Tefft Cellars (4 reviews)
-Teft is One of the Best
Thursday: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM Wineries & Vineyards
This was my very first official wine tasting event, and Teft was the ideal place for initiation. They have a great tasting room and store, and the vineyard is right next to the store, so you can see where they grow the grapes. They had a variety of glasses available with their name and logo. We purchased glasses and used them for the rest of the weekend of wine tasting. Their wine is great, and the place has a lot of charm. I would recommend it. See more..
- 4.0 Yakima Convention Center (47 reviews)
-Sa YES to a Conference in Yakima
Thursday: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM Convention Centers
Attending conventions all over the country is something that I tolerate, but when visiting a new convention center I perk up! The recently remodeled and expanded YCC was a pleasant surprise. Surrounded by comfortable and affordable hotels and a whole host of independent cafes and coffee houses make this a cozy hometown spot. The facility is easy to access and find where your meetings are located. The amenities are clean and regularly serviced. The range of rooms is quite sufficient. I attended small meetings as well as large events in the same building. If you are looking for an affordable location for your conference, consider Yakima! See more..

I had a bacon and cheese sandwich which was just ok. I was told it came with a side so I chose one. After looking at my receipt I was charged for the side. - 4.0 Horizon's Edge Winery (8 reviews)
-Chocolate Port !!
Thursday: 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM Wineries & Vineyards
This is a small winery near Zillah, Washington, in the famous Yakima Valley wine growing region. You can view Mt. Adams from their tasting room, which is actually a loft; and there is no fee for the wine tasting. I am not a red wine drinker, so I bought their Monster Chardonnay for $13, which was very tasty. They also sell a chocolate flavored port (Wishful Thinking) and a raspberry flavored port (Naked), which are out of this world delicious for $20/bottle. (The bouquet is outstanding as well.) A friend recommended drizzling them over ice cream, or they would make the perfect after dinner drink. See more..

- 3.5 Yakima Sportsman State Park (50 reviews)
-Baseball Tourney
State Parks
We stayed here for a recent baseball tourney. Never stayed here before but the pictures made the place look nice. We reserved an RV space with full hook ups. Arrived Friday evening. Ranger at front gate was super friendly. The park is very green and spacious. Probably one of the nicer State Parks I've stayed in here in Washington. Our space was decent, nice and flat...didn't have to do much to level the RV. The proximity to the baseball fields in town was great too. I'm sure we will have more tournaments here in the future and I would for sure skip the high price of the hotels and stay here again. See more..
