I had a pleasant surprise to see Red Acres Hydroponics on my way to visit Rock Hall. The farm itself is scenic with a big white farmhouse and several well-kept red farm buildings. The shop itself is Self-Service, though there are staff in the office next door. Besides the red and green crispy lettuces, there was aromatic fresh sweet basil, all grown hydroponically. The shop also sells fruit, vegetables, cheeses, preserves, and salad dressings from other local businesses. I stocked up on lettuce, basil, tomatoes, potatoes, zucchini, and cheese. Checkout operated on the honor system where one can use cash, checks, or venmo. Had a great salad when I got home. See more..
