   I passed through Wilbur on my way to Grand Coulee and noticed a MUSEUM sign on Route 2. Had to go check it out. The museum seemed to be in a large storage building, and since the garage-sized door was open, I went in. This raised some eyebrows, because I was there during the week, and the museum is only open on Saturday afternoon (I wasn’t aware, really). Seeing that everyone was nice, and admitting my honest goof, I asked if I could look around. Not a problem. It turned out that the museum was quite interesting, with lots of local equipment, tools and gadgets that showed how much pride could be displayed by a little town of less than a thousand people. I stayed just about a half hour and took several pictures. Keep in mind, there are no “fine arts” here; rather, just machinery, cars, household items and archival keepsakes (check out the high school sports photos) from back in the day. Most things are laid out on tables or shelves, and about half have cards with descriptions and dates. This museum is nice place to stop if one is in need of a respite from a drive on Route 2.
