  1. 5.0 West Rattlesnake Mountain (217 reviews)
    - Great short hike.

    West Rattlesnake Mountain image
The West Rattlesnake Trail is relatively short (0.7 miles one way) and the elevation is not too demanding. Saw many families on the trail some with their canine companions. The view of Squam Lake at the top is beautiful. One caution, if you have small children there is a ledge at the top and children should be watched closely to avoid an unfortunate accident. See more..
  2. 5.0 Mount Washington State Park (109 reviews)
    - Gorgeous Short Hike In Alpine Tundra
    State Parks
    Mount Washington State Park image
I drove the Auto Road to the summit of Mt. Washington. While at the summit, I stopped by the state park’s information desk and got some information about a short east hike in the alpine tundra. The parking area is less than a mile from the summit. The walk is relatively flat at first. The landscape is rocky with grass and flowers mixed in. It was a beautiful landscape with great views. The trail continued down a steep slope with a flatter trail beyond along a high ridge. I chose to stop at this point since the return hike would be more strenuous than I had planned. Even the short hike is worth the stop. I highly recommend talking to the rangers and finding a short hike to fully enjoy this beautiful place. See more..
  3. 4.5 Cannon Mountain Aerial Tramway (424 reviews)
    - A great way to spend a few hours
    Saturday: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM Trams
    Cannon Mountain Aerial Tramway image
Beautiful day last Sunday so up the tram we decided to go! They tell you online how many tickets are left on each trip (limited to 40), so we saw lots of availability and didn't buy in advance (but you can) and got there 2 minutes before a trip. Bought our tickets and jumped onboard for a beautiful 7 minute ride to the summit. There's an easy trail there to the lookout tower and then around back to the restaurant and summit shop that we took, we also took some side trails to more private ledges with incredible views. Great trip for the money on a sunny and clear day! See more..
  4. 4.5 Cannon Mountain (422 reviews)
    - One of the best we’ve been to in NH
    Saturday: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM Mountains • Ski & Snowboard Areas
    Cannon Mountain image
Cannon has something for everyone. The Tuckerbrook family area is great for beginners and the 2100 foot vertical is good for those more experienced. Cannon is best resort so far you get access to on the Indy Pass. I would go January through March as going in December left several runs closed and quite icy. That being said, it’s a lovely area with good runs. Rentals are like 50.00 though. Get the Indy pass and enjoy 2 days here. See more..

Nestlenook Estate & Resort Sleigh Rides image
What an incredible evening! From start to finish our experience at Nestlenook was a magical evening. The Mother of the operation makes the best hot chocolate. All the sons are amazing, personable and so helpful. The night we were there they actually held the sleigh for an extra 5 minutes for a family that was caught in traffic!! As we started our evening, Andrew poured our champagne and was a great host as he helped us on the sleigh. As Greg drove our sleigh through the woods, it started to snow making it even more special. Greg explained so many great points about the property. We had our first encounter with Nestlenook last year and we are making this an annual event. Reservations should be made for 5 pm or later as you see the property in all its splendor in the darkness. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did!! Looking forward to next year already. See more..

    Echo Lake State Park image
Good trip! We arrived at approximately 5 pm, payed the small entrance fee and made our way inside the park. The park was very nice and clean, and contained several bench/table areas that one could sit and relax on. There was a looping trail around the lake that provided gorgeous views of the lake from multiple standpoints. The park also contained a building that had restrooms in it. Tip: I recommend spending 45 minutes here if you truly want to see everything. See more..

Lovely spot along picturesque Route 302 to walk and relax. Next time we will hike Aretusa Falls Trail (we didn’t have time to do it this week but the views of Frankenstein Cliff from the parking lot were worth a short stop. See more..
