For my 19th birthday I wanted to do an escape room with a few of my friends. I eagerly booked The Hydeout for my friends and I- to say the least, we had a blast. Our Puzzle Master Spencer was amazing, especially for dealing with a group of teenagers on a Wednesday night. He was really funny, captivating, and motivated us during the actual escape room which helped us when we had no idea what to do next. I definitely recommend for any teenagers out there looking for a fun night with a few friends, and make sure to request Spencer because he really is the best! See more..

All I can say is that I wish I had found this place much much sooner. We were invited for a special event here so there was a small reception held in the quaint lobby area prior to hitting the theater. Boldly and brightly decorated with sequins and lots of color, there was a card game/poker theme to it with available playing pieces. The staff could not have been more accommodating and inviting, simply a pleasure. The theater itself has seating on three sides of a large stage and backdrop, almost a theater in the round. When I say that each and every seat is a winner I mean it— an ample incline allowed for the 5 to 6 rows deep to each have close and intimate views of the action. We had the pleasure viewing a comedy show featuring Linda Belt—fun and funny!! A gander at the upcoming attractions showed a wide range of offerings, to suit every taste. On an unseasonably warm sunny afternoon in March, we took a very nice stroll around the reservoir. The sun reflected off the water, the woods, it was very enjoyable. The trail is about 3 1/2 to 4 miles around. You can connect to the Matabasset trail up to Talcott Mountain. It is a very level, easy walk (unless you head up to Talcott Mountain). West Hartford Center and Blue Back Square offer something for everyone. The Noah Webster Public Library has an outstanding children's section. The library offers numerous programs for all ages. If you enjoy eating out, there is a variety of excellent restaurants, many with outdoor seating. There are many fine retail and business establishments which include clothing stores, jewelry stores, banks, a pharmacy, a hardware store, a kitchen store, a candy store, a bakery, a book store, a sports club, a movie theater, and a wellness center. I frequently walk to the Center to mail a letter at the Post Office, stop at the bank, or return DVDs to the library. I enjoy grocery shopping at Whole Foods which is across the street from Blue Back and Going to special events at the outdoor plaza. Parking is easy. I recently went here to celebrate a friend's birthday. There were 6 people in our group. We wanted to do something other than hang out at a bar or restaurant. I do have artistic skills but others in our group do not and they did well. We all had a great time. The paint bar itself has a cool vibe and fun decor. The place and employees are very welcoming. The instructor was upbeat, encouraging and very helpful. We ordered a bottle of wine and a few appetizers. There are non-alcoholic drinks available also. There was quite an age range of people at this class. The youngest person looked about 9 yrs old and the oldest person appeared to be around 60 yrs old. I like that you can view the calendar online to see which painting you would like to paint and then sign up for that date. I would advise planning ahead because the dates book up fast. This was our third attempt at making a reservation for 6 people. The only reason I didn't give this place a 5 star rating is because we felt really cramped. You don't have a lot of room to work in. We had to place our appetizers on our chairs and stand up to paint until we finished our food. Even then, you had to be careful not to accidentally bump your arm into the person next to you. We visited old family and friends in West Hartford to escape the heat In Naples FL. What a pleasant experience we enjoyed when we played two rounds of golf at Rockledge Golf Club. Everyone, and we mean everyone, Golf shop, starter, half way house could not have been nicer. We were warned about this municipal courses slow play. Both times we played it in just over 4 hrs! The condition of the course was superb. If you get an opportunity to play this course don’t miss it. !!! I feel it is important to provide an additional perspective to the other reviews. This spa is located in a plaza made up entirely of Asian owned businesses which mainly serve Asian customers. While non-Asian customers are always welcome, they may not find the customer service they are accustomed to at other American businesses. This is located in what looks like a residential house on a busy street. In the check in area is a bathroom and there was not any thing to dry my hands with. I saw a small tray next to the sink but it was empty. Perhaps it has small towels on it usually? I noticed part of the faucet was broken off on the sink so I didn't get a very positive first impression of the facility. I was brought upstairs to the massage room and sat in a small reception area that had the previous customers used water glasses sitting on the table. The massage was good however I never really could relax as there was alot of noise from the cars on the street outside and also the entrance door to the spa down on the first floor slammed open and closed several times. I understand the noise from the outside is not under the spa's control but I just wanted to mention it. I felt a bit rushed after the treatment to go right downstairs to pay. I would have liked a few minutes to sit and relax before leaving but no one offered this to me. There is a few parking spots on the side of the building. I was lucky and someone was leaving when I was arriving. There is several spots behind the spa but there are large signs indicating the spots are only for another business next door. I think I would have had to find a spot on the street if the one spot hadn't opened for me. See more..

Saint Mark’s is a comfy little church in West Hartford, handy to Farmington where the Toos had spent the night. Perched at the top of a hill with an enormous parking lot, the red brick building with sparkling white trim is silhouted to great advantage. Currently, Sunday Mass is celebrated only at 10:30AM. Be sure to check with one of the online mass time providers, as this is obviously subject to change. The church interior is fresh and new looking with spacious pews and modern decor. The choir is exceptional, and our celebrant handed off the homily to a visiting priest who did a scholarly and memorable job. All in all, St Mark’s is just exactly what a neighborhood parish should be. We found our visit very much on the inspiring side. See more..
