The Stafford Air & Space Museum is a Smithsonian-affiliated institution. We are named in honor of Lt. General Thomas P. Stafford, veteran astronaut of the Project Gemini & Apollo space programs and a Weatherford, OK native. Filled with artifacts from the earliest days of mankind’s first flights, to the manned spaceflight programs of the “Space Race” era between the U.S. and the Soviet Union, to the future of aerospace, the Museum has something for everyone! The museum houses 63,000 square feet of exhibits and showcases thousands of artifacts, including a General Dynamics F-16 “Fighting Falcon,” the actual Fixed-Base Simulator used to train all 135 Shuttle Program crews, a ten-story Titan II rocket, a moon rock returned to Earth by the crew of Apollo 17 and General Stafford’s actual, flown Gemini VI spacecraft. Our kids (14 and 7) were about done with museums when we found this one but I'm so glad we stopped. We were greeted at the door by two very friendly volunteers who encouraged us to take pictures with the buffalo up front, offered scavenger hunts for the kids and walked us through some of the exhibits with backstories as well as some personal stories with the exhibits themselves. One of the best museums we've seen and the kids ended up enjoying the visit as well. See more..

Friendly place to shop for gifts, antiques, and home furnishings. I always find something I need or have to have when I stop and shop. Some trips are a quick in and out and some trips I could look around for hours. They have antiques, vintage, along with home furnishings. I love to get new things to decorate or use in my home. Great place to find a gift for a friend. And watch FB page for sale days, They are the best. Just a short drive from the OKC area. See more..

This attractive little park is situated at N Broadway and W Main (Route 66) on the former site of Weatherford’s first bank. Also known as McPhetridge Centennial Park, it commemorates the town’s founding in 1898. The park is nicely landscaped and has a large gazebo, a picnic area, a fountain and Centennial bricks that were donated by local residents, businesses, and organizations.
