- 4.5 Steigerwald Lake National Wildlife Refuge (63 reviews)
-Spring day walk
Nature & Wildlife Areas
Beautiful nature refuge ... no pets allowed! We saw a ton of birds, deer, nutria...and beautiful wild flowers. There are a couple of different paths, one leading up to the dike so you can walk along the river. Very peaceful and serene place to walk. There are occasional mountain lion sightings so probably best to walk with a friend, not alone. See more..

Saturday: 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM History Museums
Two Rivers Heritage Museum, off HWY 14 in Washougal, Washington, is a charming local history museum packed with memorabilia and community information. A must-see when traveling through the Columbia Gorge, visiting Vancouver, Washington, and the Columbia River, or for locals interested in the history of their area. See more..
- 4.5 Cotton Wood Beach (2 reviews)
-GORGEOUS BEACH!
Beaches
This area is gorgeous. It is peaceful and well maintained. We went to Cottonwood to go metal detecting and the water was so high that it was impossible. I would recommend families bring a wagon filled with a picnic lunch and bring some toys for the kids. You cannot drive your car into Cottonwood Beach, so bring the wagon, put your kids in it, put your food in it and your liquor, and come have a good time! If the water is down, you may even be able to sit on the beach! Enjoy! See more..
- 4.0 Cape Horn Trail (13 reviews)
-Great views
Spent More than 3 hours Hiking Trails
If you take the path counter clockwise as most do, the 1st mike of the path will first take you up a climb to the highest point with a view to Cape Horn and to beacon rock. You will then hike with a view to blue star mountain before heading south , crossing under 14 and down to the river. The amazing views in my view start once you have gotten closer to the river. You will remain 100 to 200 feet above the river with some impressive views down. The path is well traveled but if you stick to the counter clock pattern you might feel that you have it to yourself. -Very cute Columbia Gorge picnic area
Spent 2-3 hours Parks • Hiking Trails
Quiet peaceful picnic area with riverfront views. The Park is sited on an old estate, all that remains is the apple orchard. There is a large grassy area, picnic tables and fire pits, and walking trails (#4410). There is wildlife in the park, I spotted 6 swans on the river. Park is handicap accessible and has pit bathroom. Not as large and fancy as other parks in the area, but very cute and peaceful. See more..
- 3.0 Mt. Pleasant Cemetery (1 review)
-Lush forest cemetery
Spent < 1 hour Cemeteries
A cemetery dating to 1889, it is accessed via a short path located near the historic marker sign. The small plots are in a wooded area, it's very lush and green. It feels like it is being slowly overgrown, this is not a manicured place. See more..
