    Minam Store image
We went on the Minam Store’s Wine and Food on the Snake River through Hell’s Canyon for 5 days and 4 nights of exciting whitewater (class 3) rafting, hiking and glamping. The entire experience was outstanding: Grant and his expert rafting guides provided insights on the river, wildlife, and historical context during our hikes; Walla Walla winemaker Trey Busch of Sleight of Hand Cellars brought an abundance of excellent wines; all the delicious food was prepared in advance by Chef Andrae Bopp (rhymes with ‘hope’) of AK’s Mercado in Walla Walla. Grant and Lottie Richie, owners of the Minam Store in Wallowa OR, provided the sturdy rafts and gear (dry bags, tents, cots, etc) Definitely recommend this adventure! See more..

This place is a gem. They're open year round, every Saturday from 11am-4 (spring and summer they open Fridays (12pm-6) and Sundays (11am-4), too). They've got a freezer stocked with local, grass fed meat. They've always got eggs, as well produce that's been frozen and canned pickles, jams, jellies, etc. In the spring and summer they've got a ton of fruit and vegetables at REALLY great prices. They also have locally foraged wild foods (nettles, service berries, etc). For crafts, they've always got some beautiful wood work, pretty ceramics, American Doll hand-made clothes, children's clothes, aprons, and jewelry. It's on Wallowa's main street (you drive right past it going to Joseph). Definitely worth a stop! See more..

    - Perfect place to camp before running the Grand Ronde
    Nature & Wildlife Areas
We stayed at Minam State Recreation area the night before putting on the Grand Ronde. It's 10 minutes away from the put in. The camp ground is nice-lots of green grass, clean bathrooms and right on the river. See more..

    - impressive
    History Museums
This is very well done and worth checking out for a piece of history of the area. It sounds like more work is in progress. See more..
