   I venture out on the Vernon Rails to Trails paths with my German Shepherd on a regular basis. There are good maps to show parking spots for starting your walk. Walkers, Joggers, and Bikers share the same paths so you need to keep a look over your shoulder for oncoming bicyclists and runners when walking a dog on an extendable leash. The paths are wide and plenty of room for all as long as you are observant to let others pass. They are kept clean and mowed so no worries about ticks and other insect problems that happen with tall grass. As the pandemic brought "Stay at Home" orders I noticed a lot more people out on the trails with baby carriages and kids so I recommend going very early in the morning to enjoy these beautiful pathways with a dog so as not to bother other people who don't appreciate a protective dog barking at them!
