   - Lovely cool place to camp in the heat of summer!

   We were traveling back from vacation and looking for a place to stay in the heat when we saw a listing for Catherine Creek. It was a bit off of the main road, but worth exploring so we headed out that way. The quiet drive through the fields led to a cool valley with increasing trees, then to the state park. There are lots of things to do here, but the camp was our real interest. Only about 30 spots spaced out along the creek in the shade of pine trees, but very nice and cool. Grassy spots, each with a firepit and table, flush toilets (!!!!) and lots of quiet. Sites are pretty open, but spaced far enough apart that we didn't feel crowded. There are a few sites that would take a bigger rig, but most of them are designed for smaller trailers, RVs or tents. No hookups and no generators after 5! See more..

   If your ball goes in the rough you had might as well just drop another one! Otherwise the pace of play can get horrendous! The views are unbeatable! I would advise getting out as early as possible as the trade winds arrive in the early afternoon. It is a links style course so be ready for plenty of awkward lies. See more..
