I wish this museum was still open! George Washington Carver is a key figure in history and his findings are still relevant today. This museum showcases a great number of Carver's accomplishments, inventions, beliefs, etc. When the museum opens back up I would recommend a visit! See more..

The other Reviewers have done a great job covering the museum and we greatly appreciated their time and effort. Instead of repeating what they have said I’d like to offer a “tip” on parking. The main (marked) parking up on the hill above the airport/museum and is a bit of a hike, especially if you have mobility issues. (if you are traveling with kids that need to burn off some extra energy after a long car ride, it’s great). There is a second (unsigned) parking area for about 20-30 cars that is directly adjacent to the museum hangers. To get to this parking take General Benjamin O Davis Way towards the airport terminal and at the end on the right, you’ll come to the two hangers that house the museum and the parking is in front of first hanger. Hopes this helps! See more..

Tuskegee University's Legacy Museum is a gem! The location may be small but its impact and relevance surely isn't. I was excited to learn about such rich history which has been preserved for over 100 years. I also learned more about the Syphilis Experiment and Ms. Henrietta Lacks. I would recommend The Legacy Museum to everyone as it tells important parts of history I feel everyone should know! See more..

    Tuskegee National Forest image
We camped in the National Forest for five days to visit nearby Tuskegee, and hiked the Bartram Trail twice. Camping is free with a permit from the ranger station, and is restricted to 14 designated camp sites. The forest is pretty small, so many areas are close to roads and experience road noise, but the benefit is great cell reception throughout the forest. It's still a wild place, however, and we heard coyotes howling at night! We found the Bartram Trail to be a little too similar throughout; the landscape didn't change much over the trail. However, it's a relatively easy and enjoyable hike. Note that there is a shooting range within the forest, and some might find the gunfire distracting. It was far enough away from our campsite that we were not bothered. See more..
