   This beautiful Cathedral has magnificent architecture and iconography. It is a Greek Orthodox Church and rich with tradition in both the style of the architecture and the location of the beautiful mosaics. The church itself is on a beautiful piece of property and once a year St. John's has a Greek festival with tours of the church so that you can have a better understanding of the rich history involved. The annual festival also offers grilled Greek foods in the outside tents, traditional Greek specialties in the inside tents, and vendors, rides, games. The women of the church make all the delicious Greek pastries themselves for the festival which is usually held the first week in June. However, everyone is also welcome to visit the Church throughout the year for Sunday services -- you don't have to be Greek Orthodox to come to a service to see the beautiful church. See more..

   Talk about a Hidden Gem in New Jersey. I Googled African art museums and this one came up. I was kind of skeptical at first because it seemed like a church which it's a museum in a church but they have a lot of extraordinary pieces. If you're in the New York area I highly recommend that you take a visit to this Museum as it was only 10 miles from the Bronx. For what the museum lacks in size it makes up in the content of its exhibits. See more..
