   My Wife, our daughter and Mother ventured out for an afternoon outing, we decided on this area and wasn’t disappointed! The Cherokee National Forest is great and the river and falls are beautiful. We had rains the last several days and the falls were beautiful and flowing. The area and charm was relaxing and casual. Our day was a fun and amazing day for the books, can’t go wrong in this area for many outdoor activities~ Highly Recommend visiting.... Hiking, Fishing and Picnics. See more..

   On a trip to see fall leaves, I learned about the Cherohala Skyway and how high above sea level this scenic drive goes. Since where I was staying had mostly green trees, I took the drive. The Cherohala Skyway has a bunch of scenic overlooks in both Tennessee and North Carolina. I recommend checking out as many overlooks as you possibly can. Each view is different from each overlook. If you take the drive during fall, you get to see all stages of fall during the 50 miles on the Cherohala Skyway. I’ll definitely be back on the Cherohala Skyway when I’m in town. See more..

   Two buildings of beautifully organized collections. First building has guns, currencies, Indian artifacts, tools, phonographs, and instruments. Telephone and car Museum also has washing machines, pictures and memorabilia, and a moonshine still. There’s a telephone you can call another phone.... for those kids that have never used one!    After stopping to see the Bald River falls we decided to take the drive all the way through the mountains. It was a wonderful drive. We completely enjoyed it. If you find somewhere that has a map I would highly suggest it. I just wish the maps would have had more information on them I. Regards to what could be seen at each point, how far till you would be able to get food, where you could stope for a picnic or where it was safe to hike. I almost forgot which side of the road the look out points will be on. We didn’t have any cell service while on this drive so please please have a map. We didn’t get lost because I had a brochure with a small map. But didn’t know how long of a drive it was going to be. Have fun and enjoy it. See more..

   What a blessing it is living in Blue Ridge and being able to enjoy waterfalls everywhere. This one is a little over an hour from our location and is worth the trip to see both Bald River and Baby Falls. It was a rainy and kinda gloomy day but seeing these falls made the day much more enjoyable. What I love about living here is that every season gives a new and special view of places like this.    I love this place. Unlike Bald River Falls there’s very little traffic or people. Nice place to bring lunch and your dog in hot humid August! Be careful walking. I broke my wrist soon after coming out of this fall ouch! This photo was taken in 2015. RIP Cowboy! See more..
