Must See- next to Cherohola Visitor Center

Two buildings of beautifully organized collections. First building has guns, currencies, Indian artifacts, tools, phonographs, and instruments. Telephone and car Museum also has washing machines, pictures and memorabilia, and a moonshine still. There’s a telephone you can call another phone.... for those kids that have never used one! Both have cute gift shops. FREE! Better than some I’ve paid for.

    A wonderful place of enlightenment
One would expect a museum of this quality to be in Knoxville, Nashville or Memphis but it is nestled in the amazing Tellico valley. Having visited hundreds of museums, I found the eclectic collection outstanding. Being a veteran, I loved the huge collection of guns. Loving technology, I was amazed at the telephone collection, the switchboards and particularly the representation of a telephone repairman's underground manhole existence and his pole tent. (No more a secret.) It is not just something to do while in the area, it should be a destination from the cities. If our nation is adrift, it is because we have lost our history. Some of it can be recovered at the Charles Hall Museum.

    Interesting antiques.
I was pleasantly surprised at the variety of the collections when visiting this museum. I especially like the California raisin men because I still have a few though not as many as are on display . The building is half gift shop, plus there is a second building which we did see until we were leaving. Well worth a stop.
