  1. 4.0 Tabernacle Cemetery (2 reviews)
    - Stumbled upon during Pine Barrens exploration.
    Spent < 1 hour Cemeteries
Lovely old cemetery and we almost missed it. Worth your momentary stop due to locally meaningful history connotations. Both white and Indian families found their final resting place here. Oldest graves are 1700c and 1800s. Earliest graves were behind the church. Most of the markers are too blurry and weathered and cannot be easily read. Famous Ann Roberts, known as “Indian Ann” who was the last of the Delaware Indians was buried here in 1894. She was the daughter of a Delaware chief. For tourists interested in history this is in a sense a major attraction. See more..
  2. 3.5 Carranza Memorial (12 reviews)
    - A surprizing historical landmark.

    Carranza Memorial image
It is one of my favorite places in pine barrens of New Jersey. A monument to Emilio Carranza a Mexican aviation pioneer who died here in a crash while on humanitarian mission. There is a parking behind the monument ( with simple bathroom facilities) and nearby trail heads where one can pick up the famous Batona Trail and the trail from the Carranza Monument to the Apple Pie Hill. This all area is frequented by scout troupes and hikers. There is a paved road to the monument. See more..
