- 5.0 Stratford Historical Society Capt David Judson House (5 reviews)
-My daughter's link with early colonial history
Historic Sites
Ok, I admit I am biased when I write this review. My daughter is a descendant of Captain David Judson, although I am not. Our travel plans brought us through the area, and when I learned from my mother-in-law (who was born a Judson) about this house, we had to stop. I am so glad we did! We had the most delightful guide. She explained every detail about the house and tailored the visit to my daughter and specifically how it all related to the time in which the house was occupied by her ancestors. There is so much history in this house and it offers a glimpse about the way of life all our ancestors experienced. Our guide was able to convey many of the differences between that time and our own. I definitely recommend a stop at the Judson House. See more..
- 4.5 Two Roads Brewing Company (207 reviews)
-Must go
Wednesday: 12:00 PM - 9:00 PM Breweries
Two Roads Brewing Company was founded in 2012 by four friends who dreamed for years of starting a craft brewery. We foster a “road less traveled” philosophy in the beers we make and how we make them. In that spirit, Phil Markowski, our award-winning Brewmaster and 27 year craft beer veteran has created an extensive lineup that takes a unique twist on classic beer styles. Two Roads was named one of the ten best breweries in America by Paste Magazine and has won many awards including gold for Belgian Lambic style Ale in 2016 at the Great American Beer Festival. Two Roads isn’t just the logo on our brewery building, it’s our philosophy. Life always seems to offer up two ways to go. It just so happens, we prefer the one less taken and having some fun along the way – in our lives, our careers and especially for our beers! Now our “road less traveled” philosophy is being brought to life in the beers that we create and how we create them. See more..

-Near our hotel
History Museums
Stratford was close to our hotel for our first night of USA 2019. Saw a flyer in our hotel in Milford for Boothe Memorial Park and Museum and decide to go there before heading to Mystic. Unfortunately it was closed but we toured the site ourselves and peeked in windows. The grounds are really well kept and it looks like you can picnic there in the summertime. It has something for everyone including a aviary. We enjoyed about two hours here See more..
- 4.5 Stratford Antique Center (46 reviews)
-large antique center
Wednesday: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM Antique Shops
We were greeted with friendly hellos and welcomes as soon as we walked in the door. I couldn't wait to start exploring judging by what I could see from the door. The main aisles were wide and clear but they had more jumbled and tight booths that I like to see (would have been rated excellent if it wasn't for that. We just walk right past the jumbled booths because it's not worth tripping, knocking something over, or having to move items to get into a booth. It's almost like some booth owners don't even care if they make a sale or not. This is a 17,000 square foot building with over 200 dealers. You can find art, furniture, vintage clothes, lighting, glassware, toys, rustic items, ceramics, kitchenware, china, collectibles, pottery, vintage jewelry, and so much more. We walked out with a few small items to add to our collections. See more..

- 3.5 Connecticut Air & Space Center (8 reviews)
-Hard to finf
Spent 1-2 hours Military Museums
Ok, be patient. It's a bit difficult to find this place. You need to get in thru the visitors center under the 550 Main Street sign. We past by it twice. With some help from guys in the area we finally got it. So, if you are a aircraft history buff, love old helicopters and aircraft, go ! But, remember it's a working facility with volunteers and retired aviation people. It has a small to no budget. So, theses guys do it because they love the industry and their military service. Don't be wowed by pristine old aircraft and a high budget showcase surroundings. These are the real deals here. Old, in service aircraft. In some cases they escaped the scrap yard. The gentleman that showed us around is truly and genuinely polite and full of history. If you go, ask questions and learn something from a great generation of hardworking guys that lived thru what these aircraft were designed to do. If you have a few bucks, donate it. See more..

Well stocked well kept small library. Excellent staff hosts various programs throughout the year. Not the library of congress but a modern well run library with something for everyone. A great experience and the price is good. If you love driving go karts then this is great place to visit. The track is just the right size for teenagers and kids 10 and older. Adults have a blast too but you can not bump and only pass when are told to. Safety is all a first. A great time on a summers evening. See more..
- 1.0 Olde Stratford Ale House (1 review)
-Dirty, Dingy, Smelly
Bars & Clubs
Entered this dive upon recommendation of a co-worker. Upon first look, it is a semi-quaint old man's bar....then it hits you. Everything has it's own putrid smell. The stench of rancid oil fills the air. The centrally located taps haven't been cleaned in ages. Even the bartenders breath had it's own sour stink to it. We reluctntly ordered a cheeseburger, a spicy chiken sandwich, and some fries. The bartender, Kaz, took our order and went to prepare our food, but not before stopping at the garbage can to spit/vomit. At that point we were going to leave, but for some reason did not, although we should have. The food was served, accompanied by the bartender's thumb holding down the roll, along with another blast of his noxious breath. We waited until he went in the back, left a $10 on the bar, and left quickly. Never again! See more..
