    - Stoked on the Salmon River

    White Cloud Rafting Adventures image
Best river guide and paddle man in the biz - ask for Wet Willie and he’ll take you to the splash zone. The river bends to his will and you will not be disappointed with his deep knowledge of the class III and IV rapids. Set your river dreams on fire and get down to the raft launch during the heavy season after the snow melts. Stanley, ID definitely grabs you by the imagination and gives you a taste of what the wagon trains and gold rush may have done for the minds of the settlers. 10/10 will come back and ask for Will aka Wet Willie so we can do a long haul trip with camping and food included. #wewillreturn #wetwilliestyle #idaho See more..

    Sawtooth Adventure Company image
Tackled the class 4 white water rafting trip today. Staff were very friendly right from the start. We felt confident in our guide (Andrew) as he took us down the River. He shared some history about the river, pointed out scenery, and told some good corny jokes. If you’re willing to have fun, enjoy the outdoors, and have some thrill then go on this trip! I definitely recommend going in June when water is high- bigger rapids! See more..

My wife and I had never gone fly fishing before. Dave (the owner) was incredibly professional and helpful in taking me through the reservation and fishing license process. Our guide, Will Small, was wonderful at teaching us techniques and encouraging us with each cast and catch. We rafted and fished about 11 beautiful miles of the Salmon River and are now waiting, with baited breath (pun intended), for our next fly fishing adventure. Thanks so much guys!!! See more..

    White Otter Outdoor Adventures image
From the booking process through to the last stop for brownies in their restaurant we had a great adventure with White Otter. We did it as a family of 5 and everyone had a great experience. Our Raft Guide Sam, a friendly and informative college kid on summer break, not only tough us the rafting skills but told us a lot about the environment that we were traveling through. On top of the rafting / rapids fun, two highlights were a quick stop to rock jump and quietly floating by 3 deer who were at the river's edge. We paid for "a photo" ahead of time and for the same price ending up with full gallery of shots that are instant-classic family photos. See more..

We had an incredible alpine climb to the top of Mount Heyburn. We have done several hikes and climbs around the Redfish Lake area, and this was by far the best. Our guide, Matt Scrivner of Sawtooth Mountain Guides, was very determined to make sure we had an amazing experience on the mountain, and he was incredibly focused on our safety during the climb. We are definitely pleased that we chose to climb with Sawtooth Mountain Guides! See more..

  7. 5.0 Middle Fork River Tours (109 reviews)
    - Prepare to be "mystified!"
River Rafting & Tubing • Fishing Charters & Tours
    Middle Fork River Tours image
There are literally no words for how amazing our trip on the Middle Fork was. Middle Fork River Tours poured so much time and effort into spoiling us in every way and left our family with so many amazing memories. Our guides were Lorraine, Annika, Sam, Danny, Cory, Jon and Piper and each guide went out of there way to ensure my family had an amazing week. Of course the experience, camp, activities and food were excellent but they also found personal ways to lavish attention on our family as well. For example: My 17 year old son wants to be a river guide and after the guides learned this they spent SO much time with him "teaching him some of the ropes" and he LOVED it! My son literally told me the week was life changing for him..... The MFRT team feels like a family and I found their team dynamics and how the treated us heartwarming. We will be back for sure! 9. 5.0 Rocky Mountain River Tours (74 reviews)
    - Best vacation ever!
Multi-day Tours • River Rafting & Tubing • Eco Tours • Fishing Charters & Tours • Hiking & Camping Tours
    Rocky Mountain River Tours image
Our family recently completed the Main Salmon trip with Rocky Mountain River Tours and it was fantastic. Our kids (10 and 14) were a bit nervous about camping for a whole week and a little scared that the rapids would be too adventours for them. By the last day they were both begging to stay longer and to paddle the rapids in one of the kayaks. All of the logistics were great, the food was amazing, the scenery was stunning and the activities were a blast. Our kids quickly made friends and we enjoyed getting to know the other parents and grandparents on the trip. By far the very best part of this trip was the guides. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond each day to make sure we were safe, comfortable and having fun. I especially appreciated that three of our six guides were women. It was awesome for my 10 year old daughter to have such amazing role models on this trip. They really inspired her to get out of her comfort zone and now she loves kayaking. See more..

    - Trip of a lifetime
    Wednesday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Multi-day Tours • River Rafting & Tubing • Fishing Charters & Tours
    Idaho River Adventures image
Our trip on the Middle Fork of the Salmon river with Idaho River Adventures was truly one of the best vacation of our lives (ages 61 and 64). The river and scenery were fantastic. The guides were warm and engaging, 100% on top of everything we encountered, and worked their asses off to set up our camps and cook excellent meals. We had the rare experience in the modern world of being totally unplugged and were able to appreciate every minute of it thanks to the attention to detail, caring, and skill of Dustin and team. 11. 5.0 Sawtooth Traxx (68 reviews)
    - Sawtooth Traxx: Outstanding Idaho Snowmobiling Trails & Outfitter
    Gear Rentals
    Sawtooth Traxx image
Sawtooth Traxx is great outfitter and is in the perfect location for getting to some amazing scenery very quickly. We rented for a full day and it was totally worth it. We went to Stanley Lake in the morning and Redfish Lake in the afternoon with a stop at Mountain Village Resort for a nice hot lunch in between. It was a nice mix of open and tree lined trails with some nice elevation changes - the two lakes are iconic and were so cool to see in a frozen state. The management and staff were very nice and helpful - a pleasure to rent from. We highly recommend this activity & outfitter and it is definitely worth the hour drive from Ketchum/Sun Valley for such a unique & wonderful experience. This was a very memorable trip and one we will definitely be doing again. See more..
  12. 5.0 Middle Fork River Expeditions (47 reviews)
    - You wanna have some fun, book your Salmon River trip with these guys !
    Wednesday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Multi-day Tours • River Rafting & Tubing • Boat Tours • Kayaking & Canoeing
    Middle Fork River Expeditions image
One of the best ways to enjoy Idaho’s Salmon River, regardless of the Fork. I think you go to do the Middle Fork, or The Main, thinking about Wilderness and the excitement of a fast flowing river, If you are planning on a river trip I would Highly recommend this fellas services. James is sharp to the point of making sure the guides and staff are in tune with both the river, as well as music, and clients. Safety is the issue, however food comes in a handsome second. We just got off a two week float down both the Middle then Main, James was accommodating to the Max, and I can’t tell you how much his staff made this trip so much more enjoyable. Just get in touch with these guys, go back and forth email wise, and then book the trip, you wont regret it at all. Cheers ! See more..
  13. 5.0 Pioneer Outfitters (33 reviews)
    - Half-Day Ride w Morgan = 5 Stars!
Hiking & Camping Tours • Horseback Riding Tours
    Pioneer Outfitters image
We took a half-day ride (8:30am-11:30am) with our amazing guide, Morgan! We are beginner riders, and she made us feel super safe and reassured with tips and tricks to help manage our sweet horses Flint, Jeep, Speed, Clyde and Jasper. We climbed up the beautiful mountain leading up to Titus Lake, and Morgan was a wealth of knowledge, explaining the mining history of Galena, calling out the beautiful wildflowers, and answering our endless questions about horses. We walked around Titus Lake once we reached the top, she took some awesome pictures of our family on horseback, and then we headed down the mountain for even more stunning views. Would HIGHLY recommend Pioneer Outfitters, and if you go during the summer months, would suggest taking the morning ride— the weather was absolutely perfect with a light jacket. Thanks for such a memorable experience, Morgan! We will be back! See more..

    Salmon River Anglers image
The Salmon River near Stanley Idaho is one of few locations where you can drift fly fishing and white water raft on the same trip. The guide service provided lunch and all necessary equipment;they deliver on their promise. Ian the guide, gave advance notice on where to cast the fly line as the river pulled us downstream. The guide rowed the boat upstream to keep us in the sweet spots longer, untangled our fly lines and tied new fly onto the line without being asked. The guide keep us safe through white water and yet found the time to take pictures of us. The riverside lunch was was a welcome addition to a great day on the river. Bring a fishing license, quick drying cloths, camera and have fun! See more..

  18. 5.0 Headwaters Fly-Fishing Guides (5 reviews)
    - Thanks to Robert for his integrity!
    Fishing Charters & Tours
    Headwaters Fly-Fishing Guides image
My son and I scheduled a fly fishing float with Robert as our guide. On the evening before our trip, Robert called and described less than ideal fishing conditions because of a recent rain and cloudy water. We rescheduled for the following day, hoping for better water conditions. We spoke to Robert the next evening, and he said the water was more clear, however, not ideal. So, we decided to cancel our float because my son and I only had these two days. I compliment Robert and give him a 10 out of 10! He could have said lets fish either day. I doubt if my son or I would have caught anything. This is what will cause me to schedule with Headwaters in the future. I say this is a great example of integrity. Robert could have said "Let's fish." Instead, he wanted us to have the best possible conditions and lost his fee but gained a follower (me) for the future!! See more..

Iron Creek Trail to Goat Falls And Goat Lake image
A fairly easy hike until last 3/4 mile. The trail pretty much ends and then the scramble begins. Fairly steep going at this point. As you get higher and closer to the like you want to be near the creek. Heading right puts you in the middle of a boulder field. See more..
  26. 4.0 Fishhook Creek Trail (8 reviews)
    - Really pretty with amazing views at the creek
    Spent 2-3 hours Hiking Trails
    Fishhook Creek Trail image
This is an easy trail from the trailhead parking lot near Redfish Lodge. A little over 4 miles out and back, easy for kids, mostly level and partly shaded. Leave before 10 am to secure a parking space and complete the hike before the temperatures rise. A lazy hike with a bit of exploring or snacking at the creek will take about 3 hours. Just after the creek is a box for a permits for day-hikers going past the wilderness boundary. Hiking boots are probably not necessary on this hike. See more..
