I have been going to A Moment Away in both locations, Southington and Plainville for the past 4 years and have had the best massage therapist ever. The locations are perfect, the desk staff is efficient, the place is immaculate. They tend to your needs from the minute you walk in to minute you leave. I give them a 5 star ++++ recommendation. My wife and I did this as a date night for valentines day. We don't get many nights out as we have a 4 year old so we love to make the best out of our nights. We had an absolute blast during the painting class. Lindsey was an awesome host and worked well with someone like me who has zero art abilities. The studio was gery clean and all the painting tools where in great condition. We will absolutely be coming back to do more paint nights in the future. Great job guys. See more..

Been around for years and years since the 1800s. Love their fresh fruit: apples, peaches, pears and more, always the freshest. And the pies, donuts, etc. are great!! Pick your own is available at different times of the year. Their corn is also excellent. If this house had been owned by someone famous, it would get more attention. It belongs to the local historical society and is open limited hours, so check! The house was built in 1836 and was owned by the Barnes/Bradley family until 1973. They never threw anything away and it shows. There's a large collection of pressed and cut glass goblets, 19th century toys, clothing and accessories and household goods. The house is superbly decorated in period style and is especially grand at Christmas. We live a few miles from this place and kept meaning to go. It's worth a trip from a few hours away just to visit. We have visited many house museums all over the world and this one is among the best. Downtown Southington is nearby with several small shops and restaurants. We will return in the summer to see what they have then. See more..

First time visiting Karabin Farms was Autumn 2015. We went apple picking and it was a great afternoon activity. They have animals on the property. You take a 5 minute ride to the apple orchard - there are many different types of apples. I have only been apple picking a few times but I do not remember other orchards allowing people to eat apples. I was surprised we were allowed to enjoy apples as we were picking. This really added to the experience. There was also pumpkin picking. The general store has a great selection of locally grown vegetables. We had a great time and will be returning. See more..

I never thought of reviewing a rock shop before! I agree with the previous reviewer's comments and am sorry to hear they don't accept credit cards anymore, but I think it must be a sign of the times and shows what a thin margin this shop owner has to work with. He's been in business for years now. The variety of items in this store is remarkable. I've been to rock shops out west, and this one rivals them. The owner is a book of knowledge about rocks and preparing them into finished jewelry products, and he is very willing to share his knowledge. A visit to this shop is far more than just purchasing merchandise from a seller. If you wonder what kind of rock you are looking at, where did it come from, or how did it get polished into a certain shape, or how does the wire hold it into place, etc., feel free to ask. This place is literally on an old country road, but fairly accessible to I-84 and other major highways. It is a huge factory space that has been nicely redone, but the parking lot is in really bad shape. Bar service is friendly but a bit hard to get during busy times, which seems to be all the time. It is noisy and crowded, with an inordinate amount of people walking around all the time. So if you're looking for intimate dining or a place to have conversation of magnitude, this isn't it. But that aside, the beer is very good....not Euro standard but good when compared to American. Pizza is average plus...if we were down South, I'd say very good, but this is Connecticut, so the bar is really high. They don't skimp on the toppings, but the overall pizza experience could use a little work, especially considering that they are a step-child of one of the best pizza joints in Waterbury. Just played here today with three of my friends. The course is in great shape and the greens are rolling fast and true. Whoever set the pins today was really have fun with us; they put the pins in the most difficult places.; next to false fronts, on the steepest sloops , etc.. I have had the classic burger with American cheese 5 times over the last month, and it was great. The fries were also excellent as were the fried pickles. I am not a big fan of chicken wings but for 50 cents a piece (current price) they were meaty and cooked just right. The bar itself is huge with an upstairs were you could have some privacy, or a party for many friends. About a dozen TV's are there for sports viewing including a massive one about 100 inches.
