This apple orchard was a wonderful find. The Honeycrisp apples were up for grabs. Each tree was loaded with apples easily within reach. The quality of the apples was uniformly good. It was not overcrowded. I felt prices were good at $12 a peck. It was a beautiful day, parking was easy and access to the trees could not have been easier. It was not overcrowded. See more..

The Local Motion Bike Ferry is a unique way to travel across the gap in the Colchester Causeway along the Island Line Trail. The 45-foot long pontoon boat has been equipped with bike racks and comfortable seats to carry bikers and walkers between Colchester and the Hero Islands. The 200-foot wide gap in the Causeway is bridged by the Bike Ferry, turning the ride into a novel and beautiful biking experience. From downtown Burlington, you can travel by foot or by bike along the 13-mile Island Line Trail. The final three miles are on the Colchester Causeway, a strip of raised land extending into Lake Champlain that is bridged by the Local Motion Bike Ferry and surrounded by water and mountain views. The experienced crew will direct you to load your bike onto the boat and will share some fun facts about the mountain views. See more..

    Island Craft Shop image
The Island Craft Shop is the oldest artisan cooperative in Grand Isle County, Vermont. It was founded in 1991 by a group of talented Champlain Island crafters. This is a member-owned and operated business. Over the years there have been many changes: the shop has moved several times and members have come and gone, but the Island Craft Shop continues to offer some of the best and most innovative Vermont products. From modest beginnings, the shop has grown into a must-see destination for Islanders and visitors alike. Twenty-one members now exhibit a wide ranging array of unique crafts, from locally sourced preserves to fiber goods, fused and stained glass art, jewelry in a variety of styles, turned wooden household items, watercolor and acrylic paintings, candles, garden ornaments and many other made-in-Vermont items. Open from 10 AM to 4 PM, there is always an artisan member in the shop to welcome you and to answer any questions about the crafts on display. See more..
  4. 5.0 Tinker's Barn (1 review)
    - For the Antique Hunter, It's a Must See
Thursday: 9:30 AM - 5:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Antique Shops
    Tinker's Barn image
We were just passing through and decided to stop. Could not believe the organization skill's this lady has in the placement of her treasures. This is truly a must see. What we really found most interesting is the collection of clothing through the years that you would see in stage plays, that worn in the movies. Most interesting however is the hat collection she has. Can you imagine a collection of over 500 hats? I'm a guy but was really impressed in the numbers and design. There is a lot of truly antiques in this place. She had taken over the business from her mom and she's been in it a long time. You never know what treasure you may find. I am sure you would not be disappointed. She has a little friend that she feeds as well. If your going with children it is pretty tight quarters, but, don't let the stop you from taking a look. Just have them be careful. See more..

We read about this in another review and thought we would check it out. We were not disappointed. The farm's simple little shop is full of all things apple or maple and other local treats. The soft ice cream cones are a must. Anyone who does not enjoy this place just can't appreciate the simple things in life. See more..

This beach may cater to locals, but I was warmly welcomed by families sitting in chairs at the water's edge. Swimming in the cold, clear, refreshing water was the highlight of our trip to Vermont. The views are spectacular and although the beach is rocky, the water is amazing. Adding to the charm is the forest of birdhouses across the road. Will happily return. See more..
