This was a winning surprise tucked away from the highway. Fabulous grounds, great tasting cider in many flavors and cheerful friendly service. Great play areas for children and families. We were even permitted an overnight stay in the back wooded area in our RV. Right next to a gently flowing stream lined with tall oaks and bordered by the Apple Orchard. Trails for walking to the mine, views of the lake, and trails for bike riding. Will definitely return. See more..
  3. 5.0 Llamas of Circle Home (4 reviews)

    Llamas of Circle Home image
The wife and I had such a wonderful time visiting the llamas. We not only brushed them, but were lucky enough to feed them dinner as well. They so reminded me of little kids. Because some of the llamas were getting jealous and started spitting. They are so loved and taken care of by Geo and his help. Swing by and see for yourself. I promise you'll have a splendid time. 4. 5.0 Potato Ranch Llama Packers (2 reviews)
    - Great way to backpack...a self guided tour with llamas!
    Other Outdoor Activities
After just a two hour orientation you're ready to say goodbye to civilization and take off into the wilds of the Sierras with some easy to handle, load carrying llamas. They're wonderful companions on the trail...almost always spotting wildlife before you do...pretty stoic about things that would send a horse or mule into orbit. Much cheaper than hiring a packer and best of all you're in charge of your destination and rate of travel. Great for older hikers like me...66...150 miles on the JMT last year with llama support, people with kids or hikers who want to have something left in the tank when they reach their destination!. I'm doing Rae Lakes Loop this year with my brother, nephew and grandnephew...taking a young 3 year old llama along for 'experience'. Put this on your bucket list is you like to get out of doors! From a beginner to an experienced angler, Doug is the guide for you. I learned so much from my time on the river with him. From my experience, I've already become a better angler. Doug is patient and knowledgeable and through his expertise, I was able to bring some amazing fish to the net. The waters in this area are a secret gem and no one knows them better than Doug. A day on the river is so worth it! See more..

Fabulous Lunch. We ordered a New York Steak sandwich and a Pastrami sandwich: we agreed that these were the best we have ever tasted. My wife ate hers, barely. Mine was so large I took half home. See more..
  7. 5.0 Mark Cottrell Fly Fishing Guide Service - Tours (1 review)
    - Excellent guide!
    Fishing Charters & Tours
Mark Cottrell Fly Fishing Guide Service - Tours image
We went on a guided trip with Mark Last April 2014. Booking the trip was a breeze, no deposit was required. We met Mark at Sonora, then proceeded to the fishing spot on his car. Mark was kind enough to supply all the gear (rods, waders, boots), the only thing i brought was my fishing license. Mark was very friendly and is an excellent guide. one on one casting lessons was also part of the experience. I like that his teaching style was more laidback and the instructions were not too technical. All in all, me and my Dad had an awesome time, were taught basic casting, and caught 8 good sized trout total. I cant wait to schedule another guided trip. Good value for money! I highly recommend his guide service. See more..

The museum is very small, but packs in a lot of artifacts; mostly uniforms and weapons from several wars. Free and worth the time to visit. Thank you to the veterans and families for the donations of memorabilia and for making the museum available to the public! See more..
  9. 4.5 Tuolumne County Museum (37 reviews)
    - Great little museum packed with exhibits
    History Museums
    Tuolumne County Museum image
This prior jail house ( and jailer living quarters) has many varied exhibits about crime and punishment, mining, denizens of the era, various settler groups and even celebrated local art of well known artists. Around every corner ( especially in the various jail cells, now exhibit homes, is a new and interesting story. Especially of interest were the wanted notices ( times have certainly changed there) and audio accounts of the prisoner who burned down the jail, himself with it. The docents were interesting and informative, and can give you info on other sites of interest in the area. Free admission ( but donations certainly to keep this gem going strong). See more..

What a great bar. Good beer, a really friendly and welcoming atmosphere and the best flippin’ barmaid in Christendom. Had a brilliant laugh, great banter and an all round 10/10 evening. If I could give this place 6 stars I would, from the 3 Brits who learned some new sign language. See more..

  13. 1.0 La Bella Rosa Vineyards (1 review)
    - Not a wine tasting place
    Speciality & Gift Shops
We just got into town for a three night stay and wanted to taste some wine and had to use the potty. Walked in the rain from parking lot. low and behold it is a gift shop. Expressed our disappointment and asked to use the restroom. Were told they do not have one. We are Seniors and in distress and likely would purchase wine. Too bad this is so misleading. See more..
