We camped at Shad Landing in Pocomoke River State Forrest and drove here for our girls to paddle board. Nice guys running the place, calm river for the kids to paddle board and a $5 discount if you show proof of camping at Shad Landing. We inquired about canoe trips - sounded fun but we didn’t end up going. See more..
  2. 5.0 Pocomoke River Cruises (26 reviews)
    - Make the time for this One...You won't regret it!
    Boat Tours
    Pocomoke River Cruises image
This relaxing excursion on the Pocomoke River provided a wonderful time to explore an eastern shore treasure we had't seen before. Captain Jerry made it entertaining for all, as he had a wealth of knowledge about the river and its inhabitants. As a bald eagle led us on our way, it was exciting to see, of course the bald eagle itself, but also blue herons, the beaver lodges, the bald cypress trees, and turtles sunbathing. One of the many favorite memories we will have of our 34th anniversary weekend. See more..

  6. 5.0 The Corner Shoppe (10 reviews)
    - Great Snow Hill Store.
Spent < 1 hour Speciality & Gift Shops
We were wandering thru the town and stumbled upon The Corner Shoppe. I have to admit I do not typically like store staff helping me unless I ask for help. The couple who own this store proved to be different. They are delightful and helpful. I thoroughly enjoyed their suggestions and product demos. I bought several flavors of high quality flavored vinegars and have used them often. I can't wait to return. See more..

  12. 4.0 Pocomoke State Forest (1 review)
    - Relaxing Camping Trip over Labor Day Weekend!
    Forests
Our family came to Pocomoke River State Forest for the Labor Day Weekend - we camped at Shad Landing in Fox Den and really enjoyed it. Our site (#55) was fully shaded, had a clean fire pit, and good, flat surface for the tent. Each site has a fish prep table and hook (this is a great park for fishing - marina in park) and bathroom centrally located in the middle of the Fox Den loop. Outlets in women’s restroom, clean facilities and 2 showers. Nature Center and Amphitheater in the park and we were lucky enough to enjoy the first show since the COVID shut down. The program, Scales and Tales was excellent (not too “kiddish”, our teenage daughters loved it). Unfortunately the Nature Center and Camp Store are still closed due to COVID. Local Walmart about 10 minutes away is a great place for groceries, ice, etc until Camp Store reopens. This park is a home run for river activities (fishing, boating, canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding) but not as great for adventurous hiking. There are plenty of trails, but I would consider them walking trails opposed to hiking trails. See more..
  13. 3.0 Nassawango Golf Course (2 reviews)
    - Wonderful Surprise
    Golf Courses
Great tract on the beautiful Pocomoke River. The course was in superb shape, especially the greens. The restaurant and river side bar was outstanding. It felt like a Cheers atmosphere. Such nice friendly people and extremely reasonable prices. Definitely a diamond in the rough that I highly recommend. It is definitely worth the drive from the crazy overpriced Ocean City area.
