  1. 4.0 Fort Fred Steele State Historic Site (13 reviews)
    - Nice place to visit

I stopped here several times while traveling through the area on business trips. The first time was purely by accident just to get a travel break. But then I planned subsequent stops here as a good place to take a lunch break and stretch my legs. The remnants of the fort are interesting, but be sure to stop and view the cemetery and caretaker's house to gain more insights of what this place was like years ago. See more..
  2. 3.5 Seminoe State Park (7 reviews)
    - Camping here is not for everyone

We camped at South Red Hills. Since the campground was limited to reservations from Wyoming residents, it definitely limited the number of people camping there. This factor may color my review. The site itself was fairly undeveloped: pit toilets, no electricity, few trees, several sites with pavilions. There were a few surprises: a playground and a boat launch which seemed to be getting used. There were also quiet hours from 10PM to 6AM, which were observed. I did not see a store anywhere nearby, so make sure you have what you need or do without. The wind can definitely be a factor here, so do consider that. I definitely would not say it's the best place I've camped as there didn't seem to be any pleasant hiking near, but it could be just the place if you have a boat. See more..
  3. 3.0 Parco/Sinclair Museum (2 reviews)
    - Small local museum; some memorabilia from Sinclair Oil Corp

The Parco/Sinclair museum is in a single room attached the the town offices (and police station) in the tiny town of Sinclair Wyoming. This is a small museum about the town and associated oil refinery; it also includes a small amount of petroliana from Sinclair Oil Corp itself - however it is not an official company museum, but instead administered by the Carbon County Museum. The displays show some of the personalities involved, as well as other artefacts dating from the 1930s, when the town was established, to date. It's worth a short stop as it's not far off I-80, especially if you are interested in the history of US oil refining. The nearby Parco Hotel is architecturally interesting, having originally been built by the oil company in the 1930s. The town was also initially named Parco, as it was where Producers And Refiners COmpany had their oil refinery; some years after PARCO was acquired by Sinclair Oil Corp, the town's name was also changed from Parco to Sinclair.
