    Eastman's Docks image
I have never seen better fishing for haddock in January or for that matter, in any month at all. Simply incredible!!! Mates do an incredible job with helping anglers and cleaning your catch. I appreciate that fact that the mates do not gouge you for the price of fish cleaning and leave it up to the angler to tip at their discretion. Thanks for the epic and memorable fishing days, See more..
  5. 4.5 Seabrook Beach (74 reviews)
    - Best place for families with young kids
    Beaches
    Seabrook Beach image
A little less packed than Hampton or Salisbury and caters more to the vacation rental crowd due to restrictive parking. This is a great beach, especially for families with kids. Seals are around in the summer time if you're looking out for them. Be aware of the horseflies/greenheads - due to the nearby marshes, they're prevalent in early summer and you should plan accordingly (screens on your cabanas, bug spray, bug traps, or stay near the water in the full sun). 7. 4.5 Seabrook Rest Area & Welcome Center (13 reviews)
    - ONE OF THE BEST REST STOPS ~ ALWAYS WELL-STOCKED WITH TRAVEL INFO
Spent < 1 hour Visitor Centers
Seabrook Rest Area & Welcome Center image
At least once year, I stop here coming back from out-of-state for the restroom and the latest travel brochures, maps, info cards, and booklets for use with my in-state travels. It's so easy to get to. It has its own exit and stays very close to I-95. I always find the restroom clean and the racks well-stocked with travel info. The racks are well organized by Tourism Region, such as Seacoast, White Mountains, etc. On this particular visit, the staff had decorated the place for Halloween. The staff here is friendly and helpful. I rate the Seabrook Rest Area & Welcome Center at 5.0 and highly recommend a stop. 8. 4.0 Bath & Body Works (1 review)
    - SHOP WITH GREAT LINES OF PERSONAL CARE ITEMS
    Saturday: 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM Spent < 1 hour Speciality & Gift Shops
    Bath & Body Works image
Shopping in the Seacoast Shopping Center, I visited the Bath & Body Works where a sale was underway. The deal was Buy 3, Get 3 Free on Select Items. One new line I really liked was Open Sky. The label showed it to be a blend of wild blackberries, soft violet, and a cloud of comforting vanilla. It was a pleasant, fresh-scent blend of fruity, floral, and spicy notes. I also sampled the Japanese Cherry Blossom Daily Nourishing Body Lotion which had shea butter and Vitamin E. The lotion had a a lightweight texture and the scent was a blend of Japanese cherry blossoms, Asian pear, fresh mimosa petals, white jasmine, and sandalwood. I didn’t find six items I wanted, so I did not participate in the sale, but I did find regular and antibacterial hand sanitizers on sale at 3/$15.00 which I thought were a great deal. I rate Bath & Body Works at a good 4.50 and can recommend a visit. The reason for the delay in submitting this review was due to a months-long loss of my ability to post photos with my reviews. 9. 4.0 Seabrook Library (1 review)
    - LIBRARY WITH ABOUT 50% FICTION & 50% NON FICTION
    Saturday: 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM Spent < 1 hour Libraries
    Seabrook Library image
After shopping at Seacoast Shopping Center, I stopped by the nearby at Seabrook Library. In the entryway, there was a cart with books the library was giving away. I looked them over. I got: 1. The Chaucer Papers – a mystery 2. Octavian Nothing Traitor to the Nation – novel about a boy at the time of the American Revolution who was raised by a group of Rationale Philosophers - It looked interesting. Inside, the Children’s Room was straight ahead. I looked at that area first. A small boy was playing in the activity area. I talked with his mother. Then, I looked around. I liked the low child-height bookcases. The library had a lot of children’s movies. Then, I found that the main part of the library was divided about 50/50 between Fiction and Non-Fiction. I checked for “1491: New Revelations of the Americas Before Columbus” by Charles G. Mann. The library had it. That showed me that the library kept up with new releases in History/Non-Fiction category. The library also had a great selection of books on the American Revolution and the American Civil War. There was also a good-sized Teen section with seating. And, several public computers were set up in a quiet area away from the high-traffic areas. I rate the Seabrook Library at 4.25 and can recommend a visit. The reason for the delay in submitting this review was due to a months-long loss of my ability to post photos with my reviews. 11. 3.0 Seacoast Shopping Center (1 review)
    - 9-STORE MALL CLOSE TO OTHER MALLS
    Spent 1-2 hours Shopping Malls
    Seacoast Shopping Center image
Seabrook is a town with a lot of shopping malls. It’s a state line town that attracts out-of-state shoppers because New Hampshire offers tax-free shopping. Seacoast Shopping Center is a relatively small L-shaped mall with nine stores. It is in close proximity to other malls in Seabrook – Southgate Plaza and Seabrook Crossing. The main stores of interest to travelers in this mall would be Bath & Body Works, Jo-Ann Fabric & Craft Store, and Ocean State Job Lot which offers a wide variety of discounted and closeout items at great prices. For dining, there’s the popular Clemento’s Pizza & Brew. A branch of TD Bank, a Taco Bell, and Jimmy K’s Kitchen are on adjacent pads out on Lafayette Road. I've eaten at Jimmy K's Kitchen. The food there is very good. Cardi’s Furniture and Ashley Homestore also have stores there. On my trip to Seacoast Shopping Center, I shopped at Bath & Body Works where I shopped the Buy 3, Get 3 Free on Select Items Sale. Then, I shopped Ocean State Job Lot where I got boxes of Loyd Ginger Tea with Citrus Fruits and Bigelow Lemon & Ginger Caffeine Free Herbal Tea with Probiotics – two teas I really like. I also picked up a Reg. $4.99 1 lb. bag of Poindexter Nut Co. Walnuts on sale at $3.99. I rate Seacoast Shopping Center at an above-average 3.50. Although relatively small, it has good stores. 12. 3.0 Shapley Line (1 review)
    - UNUSUAL HISTORICAL MARKER
Spent < 1 hour Historic Sites • Points of Interest & Landmarks
    Shapley Line image
Heading north on US-1 after shopping at Seabrook Crossing East, I spotted a more direct route into the Dollar Tree’s parking lot via Rock Road next to Advance Auto Parts. As soon as I made the right turn, I spotted New Hampshire Historical Marker #103 ~ Shapley Line. As a historian, I was sort of surprised at the title. I’d never heard of the Shapley Line before; however, I was familiar with the Shapley name. He’d surveyed the boundary between Seabrook and Hampton; and, a ledge in the middle of the Hampton River was chosen to mark it. That became controversial and has its own story and marker under the name Bound Rock which I happened upon many years ago. The name for this boundary came from the same Capt. Nicholas Shapley, who also surveyed the boundary between the Province of New Hampshire and the Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1657. It was based on the southern boundary of Bachiler's farm as o 1640. Some unusual things happened nearby. One thing mentioned on the marker was that three Quaker women who were being banished from the territory in 1662 were freed just south of the line by the constable. Although not named on the marker, the time frame is right for my speculation on the two of the women to be Ann Austin and Mary Fisher, who began preaching in Boston circa 1656. They were declared heretics, imprisoned, and then banished from the Massachusetts Bay Colony. I found it curious that there was also mention of Edward Gove, a man who lived nearby. He’d been imprisoned for organizing a rebellion against Lt. Gov. Cranfield in 1683. After reading the marker, I began to think of this area as The Influencer Zone. As a historian, I really like roadside historical markers. Stopping to read them is a fun way to learn some history, especially for the youngsters. For its informative content, I rate the Shapley Line historical market at 4.0. If you found this review helpful, please click THANK below. See more..
