- 5.0 Canyon Theatre Guild (9 reviews)
-The epitome of community theater
Friday: 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM Spent 2-3 hours Theaters
Get away from the noise and commotion of Six Flags Magic Mountain in Santa Clarita and take a 10-minute ride over to the Canyon Theatre in Newhall, and take in good old-fashioned community theater. The theater puts on 10 productions a year - the most recent being "Guys and Dolls". As they say, "A good time was had by all." Seats are reserved and not expensive. A family of 4 can visit for under $100. Don't forget to allow time to mosey up and down the streets of Newhall on the rebuilt boardwalk. There are some good restaurants in town as well - and none will break the bank. See more..
- 5.0 Unlocked Escape Rooms (8 reviews)
-Fun escape game
Friday: 5:00 PM - 10:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Escape Games
Unlocked Escape Rooms is a new form of entertainment in the Santa Clarita Valley. Come and play a challenging, real life, adventure game in a themed room where the ultimate goal is to solve a variety of creative puzzles within 55 minutes. Players, ranging from groups of 3-14, must use teamwork and communication to work together and search for clues, solve the puzzles, crack the codes and ultimately crack the final puzzle before time runs out. This is a great event for Families, Birthday Parties, Team Building or a vacation highlight. Our rooms are NOT SCARY in any way so younger children can accompany their parents. The puzzles can be complex so it is not recommended for very young children. See more..

- 4.5 Placerita Canyon Nature Center (48 reviews)
-Canyon Country (Santa Clarita's) best kept secret!
Nature & Wildlife Areas
I attended a nature walk about "wild flowers of the season." I am new to the area and wanted some education about native plants, and I was not disappointed! A 87 year old docent led us on an 1 hour and 30 minute walk covering approximately 1 mile of Placerita Canyon's flora and some fauna. Great for families and children. A small group at an easy, comfortable pace allows for plenty of questions and rest and reflection. See more..

- 4.5 Oak Tree Gun Club (34 reviews)
-A true American (& affordable) experience!
Friday: 10:00 AM - 10:00 PM Shooting Ranges
Oak Tree Gun Club was everything I imagined a gun range in the US to be. Staff were friendly and on hand to help. Prices were so reasonable, compared to other places like Vegas which is triple the price for half the time! We were there for most of the day and shot 6 different guns with endless bullets and it came to around $300. I was amazed by how relaxed staff were by us loading our own guns and just getting on with it (luckily my other half has had plenty of experience so he knew exactly what to do). A must do activity especially if you're looking to get out of LA for a day and away from the madness! See more..

-Great time at Gilchrist Farms
Spent 1-2 hours Farms
We took our two year old nephew 2 weeks ago. He rode on a wagon, train and a pony. He really loved it. We saw all the animals and then went into the petting zoo. He was able to interact with goats, chickens and sheep. We watched the staff milk a goat. It was great. All this was fun but the highlight was the staff. Just wonderful people and so willing to please us. If you have the opportunity, don’t miss this place. Just terrific. I understand they decorate the farm for Halloween and have a pumpkin patch. Sound like fun. See more..

-Fun for the kiddos!
Spent 1-2 hours Farms
Although this is advertised as a pumpkin patch, pumpkins were sparse on the day we were there. However, there were a lot of activities for the kids to do. There was a small petting zoo with rabbits, ducks, chickens, pigs, turkeys, and goats. There was also a face painting booth that attracted quite a few kids. Lots of various rides, slides, and games. All in all, a good place for kids to have a lot of fun. See more..

There is not much left to see of the dam, but if you research the history or travel with the historical society which offers tours once a year on the anniversary, this is an amazing place.
