The 2019 SBD Fest, under brite and sunny California skys, was a terrific Air Festival held at the San Bernardino International Airport facility (formerly the US Norton Air Force base) In the foothills of the San Bernardino National Forrest located in Southern California. The 2 day festival featured private, commercial and military aircraft from around the country that come in for this annual event.Police, forrestry service and emergency management planes and helicopters were present as well and vintage aircraft rounded out the aircraft presence .The festival included a great car show with outstanding vintage, classic, race, competition and muscle cars that were superb examples in their respective categories. To add to the excellent family event were food and beer vendors as well as various other vendors and service providers. The entertainment was terrific and many participants joined in and danced in front of a vintage plane made into a stage! This is an old Union Pacific depot built in 1924 that was almost demolished. Luckily, it was saved and fully restored by the National Park Service (one of the few examples of the government actually doing something good). The depot is beautiful and houses a small museum and a functioning lunch counter. Sadly, the lunch counter is scheduled to close on October 29th, 2013. If you're real lucky, you'll also get to see some trains go by, although they no longer stop. Best time to visit is October through April. See more..

    Pillars Of God image
Such a unique place to meditate and take in nature. It is on private property so ask for permission and be respectful. There was someone on the grounds and I was able to obtain permission to proceed. They confirmed that it’s a popular place. Quick walk from the street to the pillar. Beautiful views of the lake as well. I have T-Mobile and I had service. Google maps got me there. I would recommend downloading the map before u head to the area as the reception was spotty. Enjoy See more..

Robert and Frances Fullerton Museum of Art image
RAFFMA (Robert & Frances Fullerton Museum of Art) is a wonderful museum located at Cal State San Bernardino. Parking is for a fee, but it is not high. I think we paid about 5$. It is a walk, however, to the museum from the parking areas. The entry fee is donation based and a minimum of 5$ is suggested. The museum has art from their permanent collections which includes antiquities and contemporary art. They offer new exhibits quite a bit so if yo have something particular in mind, give them a call. They also have solo installations by contemporary artists. This is the best museum in San Bernardino. If you like art you will enjoy this place. Have fun. See more..

  24. 4.0 Deep Creek Hot Springs (43 reviews)
    - A spontaneous hike to the hot springs
    Hot Springs & Geysers
    Deep Creek Hot Springs image
Our first visit to Deep Creek Hot Springs. We accessed the trail through Bowen Ranch Road, paid $5/pp, and received a map. The gentlemen who collected our cash was friendly and insightful. We began our hike down at around 1:30pm. We finally reached the bottom an hour later. There were at least a dozen people scattered across multiple hot springs including a few kids. We only noticed one person fully nude. The vibe was really social. Everyone enjoyed their favorite beverage in the company of others and occasionally we got the breeze of Cannabis. We would consider the hike back up strenuous but well worth the glute and hamstring workout. Take your time, pack water and carbs. We plan to make the hike again but next time in the early morning. What a great Saturday night at the races. Great place to take the who family to see the races. They have fast food, beer, cokes and bottled water for sale. We sat on the side where the pits are. The negative is the long walk to get there. it was our grandsons first race and we wanted to be where we could see him in between races. If loud noise bothers you, bring ear plugs because it is loud. We plan to go back again. See more..
