A classy, historic, and sophisticated building. You can tell the library is a source of pride in this community. I don’t live around here but will make a special trip to write here for the day. Very quiet and inspiring. For lunch, go to Labonne’s Market around the corner for a sandwich. See more..

Very well-marked trails. I went counter-clockwise so had to go up the steeps near the top. Which was better than going down them. The view from atop the rock pile at the top was great, had it not been there the views would be underwhelming. I left early to beat the crowds and seemed to be the right call as to when I got back to the lot cars were lined down the street. Rocky, rooty, and steep in some sections. It was also VERY dry almost no running water. See more..

My friend and I decided to hike to Bear mountain summit via Lion's head. The hike will get the heart pumping at the beginning but the view from Lion's Head summit makes it worthwhile. From there we took AT (Appalachian trail) to Bear mountain summit. Most of the hike is pretty easy if you are in good shape. The hike seems to be quite popular among hikers with dogs. The hike was about 8.48 miles and we managed to finish it in 5 hrs. It can easily be done in 4 hrs by keeping a good pace. See more..

OK, I tried hiking here, and liked it very much. Ordinarily I stick with the tried-and-true areas to camp out but this was worth a day trip. The lake is so beautiful, the area is so unspoiled and pristine! The place is a hideaway from the rest of the world! See more..
