    Prospector Theater image
I love going out to see new movies at a movie theater but at the Prospector your experience is individualized each time you go. Also it helps support adults with disabilities with having a job. Without this movie theater many of them would not have one today. I'm very thankful for this theater and can't wait for them to bring this experience to my hometown next year. Thank you for making my movie theater going experience amazing and wonderful each and every time I see a movie here!! Also they have many more events here than any other movie theater that I I have been to as well as being the most clean movie theater compared to any other movie theater that I have ever been to!! Not only this but I am always greeted with a smile when I walk through the door of this theater!! If you haven't been to this movie theater I highly recommend going either by yourself, with your family or having your child's birthday party or bridal shower here!! The staff there is amazing and wonderful!! See more..

Lounsbury House, a National Historic Site, was built in 1896 by former Connecticut Governor Phineas C. Lounsbury. While attending the 1893 Chicago World's Fair, Governor Lounsbury was so taken by the Connecticut State Building that he built a replica to serve as his family home. Today, Lounsbury House is a place to celebrate life's memorable milestones. 6. 5.0 Wintergarden Ice Arena (1 review)
    - Ice Skating Venue
Spent 1-2 hours Arenas & Stadiums
The Wintergarden Ice Arena is the local Ridgefield Ice Skating arena. There are lessons available for new skaters, times are all over the place as schools and rec leagues tend to play very early morning or late evening. The arena offers hockey and figure skating, lessons and open public skates on various hours. The staff is super friendly and is ready to hand out the beginner's skating devices (PVC made walker to help with balance) and they give pointers and tips during the open skate sessions. The ice was cleaned before the open skate and the arena is well kept and maintained. See more..
  7. 4.5 Ridgefield Playhouse (184 reviews)
    - Perfect small venue.
    Theaters
    Ridgefield Playhouse image
We got tickets to The Genesis show. Almost every seat has a good view. If you are over 6 feet tall I would recommend the lower level. My husband , who is 6’ 3” has sat in the lower level with no issues. For this particular show we sat in the balcony area and his knees completely hit the seat in front of him. But the view and sound are great from all seats. This small venue offers a bar, and a concession stand that has soda, water, popcorn and candy. See more..

Keeler Tavern Museum and History Center image
A historic house museum originally built in 1713. The house has served as a colonial tavern, 19th century hotel, and 20th century summer estate. The house was the target of British cannon fire during the Battle of Ridgefield in 1777, the only inland battle in Connecticut during the American Revolution. During the early 20th century, the property was the summer estate of famed architect Cass Gilbert. Access to the museum is by guided tour only. Guided tours of period rooms are given by costumed docents. See more..

Seth Low Pierrepont State Park image
This is a lovely, secluded park with well shaded trails. We used the alltrails App to help us find the parking lot and to keep us on course. Some of the trails ( white and blue) are not that well marked, but the paths are well maintained. Thank you to the other reviewers who suggested bug spray. Good call! See more..

    Nod Hill Brewery image
Good choices of beer. We tried the Helles, the Stout and the Brown Ale. All really good. These choices had body, taste and nice finish. Guy behind the bar was great and personable. Will be returning when next in the area. Hope that they are able to put in an inside toilet soon as it is not really pleasant going to the porta potty in the parking lot. Besides that, the interior is great and comfortable. Nice deck to sit out on. See more..

  14. 4.0 Ridgefield Golf Course (1 review)
    - A nice public course in pretty good shape
    Golf Courses
    Ridgefield Golf Course image
A short drive from exit 1 off RT 84, near the NY border, you end up in a scenic wooded area in Ridgefield Connecticut where this course is located. My daughter and I grabbed one of only two tee times still available for a Saturday. A popular place. We were non-resident guests and it was $134 including the cart for both of us. They appear to be handling Covid well. The checkin is well organized and there was a starter on both the front and back 9s. We started on the back 9. The carts have a plastic partition between the seats. Most of the tee boxes were in good shape, although there were a few rough spots on some. The fairways were good and the greens, in general were fine. The sand traps had actual sand (other courses I have been playing lately have bad traps). It is an interesting layout, that is not too long from the white tees. The front 9 is more tightly packed and the back 9 has a more remote feel to it. They do have a small practice facility with restricted flight balls. The have big deck upstairs for the restaurant. Only outdoor seating presently. We did not stay for a meal. The beverage cart was kind of expensive. It was $8 for a 16oz bottle of water and a 16oz. Gatorade. I have always liked this course and I’m glad I was able to get back here after many years. The people we met and interacted with - staff and golfers - all seemed nice. See more..

  16. 4.0 Bennett's Pond State Park (1 review)
    - Good Place For A Hike
    State Parks
One of the few remaining natural and untouched spots in Ridgefield. There are streams, ponds, all manner of plants and wildlife and countless teaching opportunities. We took our Cub Scouts there so they could get their Nature Badge, but there were couples enjoying the day, dog walkers, and solo and pair hikers. Get out of the house on the good days. This is so close and free, and there is parking right there, also free. You can't beat free! See more..
