Exhibits showcase - primarily - painting, some photography, and works on paper by mid-and late-career regional artists; ceramics; and cast-metal sculpture. Representation also includes some out of state artists and a number of estates. Its Upstairs Galleries is a 3rd floor walk-up (not accessible by elevator), and includes two exhibit galleries and a back-room gallery. The gallery received the "Best of Hudson Valley 2018" recognition for Best Art Gallery in the region. This is my favorite establishment to hit up for that - little something gift. The thing is that 9 out of ten times I do find that little something BUT I also find a little something that I must have, weather it’s a candle, wind chime or cool top. The staff are wonderful and are great at helping you sort through the treasures. All in all a great store and a great addition to Rhinebeck. See more..

Wilderstein Historic Site, with its exquisite Queen Anne mansion and Calvert Vaux designed landscape, is widely regarded as one of the Hudson Valley’s most important examples of Victorian architecture. The estate was the home of Margaret (Daisy) Suckley, whose extraordinarily close relationship with Franklin Delano Roosevelt has been well-chronicled and is the subject of much interest. Wilderstein’s guided tour includes the elaborate 1888 interiors of the first floor of the mansion, the exterior architecture, landscape, annual exhibition, and video. The regular season for guided tours is May through October. In addition, the mansion is open and decorated for the holidays from Thanksgiving weekend until the end of December.There is also a network of hiking trails on the property, special events throughout the year, a gift shop, and spectacular Hudson River views. This is by far our favorite "nature walk" in the area to take guests, especially city friends. It's a mini-hike in the woods, suitable for all ages (about 15 minutes, wear sturdy shoes). Take the Fire tower trail and enjoy the cool green serenity of the woods - believe it or not this oasis is in the middle of Rhinebeck! At the end is a fire tower, which is a relic from another day and age, long since replaced by GPS systems. Climb the steps to the most AMAZING view in the area. You can see the silhouette of the Catskill Mountains across the Hudson River, with stunning sunsets. Also in view is the Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge, rolling hills of the "Great Estates" along the river and spin around for a view of The Taconic Range on a clear day. WOW. See more..
