Great little shop, and very nice people. A great place to visit and shop from an assortment of local art. See more..

While traveling from Socorro NM to Arizona, along Highway 60 in the town of Quemado, there is this beautiful gem right next to the road. We stopped to photograph the church. It's indicative of the history of the Spanish influence in this area. Nearby is a cemetary with old markers, most dating around the earlyt 1900's. Very interesting! See more..

Others will tell you it's light, lacks a punch, is too subtle, or was disappointing because lightning didn't strike a lightning rod. If you're looking for whiz bang, then maybe this isn't the artwork for you. For me, if was the experience of a lifetime. The nuance, the subtlety, the magic that comes with understanding your place in the world, in time, and in space, is nowhere made as clear and transporting as here. It is a mecca for lovers of minimalism. I will return. See more..

My boyfriend, our 2 dogs, and I went to Quemado Lake twice in as many days. The beach is not very big, but the lake is quite lovely with mesas surrounding it. Our dogs had a fantastic time splashing in the water and running around the little island we claimed for ourselves. There is lots of fishing at the lake so be aware of discarded fishing line! Also make sure to wear sunscreen, bring water, and have towels to wipe down feet and paws. See more..
