The whole are is the very idea of Colonial New England, especially in the fall. Well worth a side trip if you are in the area. Entertaining, historical and educational. Especially make sure you visit the cheese making facility! See more..

    - Beautiful campground

This campsite is amazing. Most importantly: it is stunningly beautiful. It is perched on a hill, so many of the sites have a sweeping vista of the Vermont mountains. We upgraded from a tent site to a lean-to and it was an excellent decision. The lean-tos are sturdy, beautifully maintained, and we actually slept in it without a tent! Many hikes are accessible nearby (try out Shrewsbury peak for a challenge!). It is quite remote — there isn’t cell reception here — but all the more beautiful for a real camping experience. The bathrooms and shared amenities at this campsite are very well maintained. Showers and bathrooms are cleaned twice a day and are spotless. Finally, Garecht, the site manager, is wonderful. He was very friendly, ready to help if anything came up, and knowledgeable about the area. See more..
  4. 4.5 President Calvin Coolidge State Historic Site (273 reviews)
    - A 1900's town
Spent More than 3 hours Historic Sites

This is a whole town that has been left in the 1900's. There is his birthplace, childhood home, and old barn. It was excellent to see - and I really enjoyed it. Just be sure to realize this is more of an old time tour of his childhood and life at the time than it is focused on his presidency. There is a small museum but it didn't cover his presidential campaign or what he really did during his presidency. Definitely do the guided tour (included in the $10 price). We spent almost 3 hours. 5. 4.5 Calvin Coolidge Homestead (152 reviews)
    - The Coolidge homestead and Plymouth Notch, Vermont as it used to be.

The tour was great. Our guide was thoroughly knowledgeable regarding the village and the Coolidge homestead. The museum has a film history of Coolidge and quite a bit of memorabilia. This, to me, was a very interesting tour and an interesting place to visit. See more..

To fill in a few minutes in our visit to Woodstock, Vermont, we took a ride over to The Calvin Coolidge Historical Site in Plymouth. (More on that later). We parked up near the Plymouth Artisan Cheese Co. building and decided to take a look. A wonderful lady, Cari, was waiting to great us and inform us all about cheeses and her company. What started out as a way to kill a few minutes turned into a highlight of our day. The upstairs museum was an added treat. We came away with cheeses, shirts and more. What a good ambassador Cari is!
