   We so totally enjoyed this experience! Laura was very helpful and friendly as well. Upon arriving she offered us mini tastings of each type of syrup. We then went into the museum and learned SO much! Note: While the (extensive) gift shop was heated the museum was not - dress accordingly in the cooler months. Just don’t miss it! The $3 museum admission is definitely worth the experience! The museum contains extensive historical murals and artifacts - we also enjoyed the push buttons to hear the actual voices and reminiscences of old timers. Also be sure to watch the brief 8 min video. It added much to our understanding of the syrup making process. Since we all love maple syrup this was a super fun stop! Do look at the Wall of Shame also to see which brands try to trick us. TIP Before you leave be sure to get directions to one of the local covered bridges - a must see!! See more..

   Chaffee Falls Trail is a fun and challenging place to hike if you are physically fit and agile. There are steep slippery areas so take your time. The trails is about: 1.7 miles with a cross connector and another (0.7 mi.) rather steep winding branch off the north side of the trail. You park Just off Hitchcock Road, approximately 0.7 miles north from the Plains Road intersection. The trail meanders through mostly wooded land along Furnace Brook with views of Chaffee Falls and rapids below. See more..
